ahem 2.5 I wouldn't watch any movies on it. But I think everybody also forgets the fact that it's thinner and it's color (much better than my 3rd gen). Probably one of the smallest 30gb players out.Originally posted by: Anubis

i swear... there really is never a good time to buy an iPod with Apple releasing all the new versions. You'll always want the next iteration.

yup, and all the people keep on upgrading. How many ipod 3rd generations do you see these days? Apple does a great job of making the next version seem so much more desirable over the previous one.

Dang it apple. I paid for overnight shipping for a reason... because once it ships I want it the next day! Three days isn't overnight in my book. Time to call up apple and get a discount on the ipod + shipping refunded. I paid for overnight shipping, meaning it should've arrived today (shipped yesterday) it's not supposed to arrive until thursday.

For its price the iPod definitely needs to add support for DVD files (ie, IFO and VOB), MPEG-2 (SVCDs), and MPEG-1 (VCDs), as well as Xvid.
MPEG-2 is way too (space) inefficient, to use Apple's H.264 parlance.Originally posted by: tjaisv
