hdd cache is important, definitly get a 7200rpm and highest cache possible. Hard drives are usually the bottleneck of the system

Much later down the road. I'm planning to get an 8800 early next year, before that time I'm going to overclock the 7900GT with a new heatsink and get a new heatsink for the cpu at the same time. Short answer is yes, I'll be overclocking later this year.

I think you've done like 30 threads on this already.

Looks good, but if it were my own build I'd go with a different case and PSU. I've already said this, though, so it doesn't matter what I say now.

hmm, I know I did, sorry I don't remember what I named any of them, and I made significant mods since the last time. What PSU would you recommend then?

I like it, if it were mine id just change:
7200.10 320gb instead of the wd
nec (no real reason other than loyality)
x1800xt512 (personal preference)
id chose a diff case and psu

I considered a 320, but I don't need that much space.
I've had good experiance's with Sony's DVD drives.
I prefer Nvidia over ATI, planning to volt mod too.
PSU is a good one and the case is a great deal for the price.

Is that because everybody else recommends it?

As for the case; its HD cooling isn't very good.

A bit off topic, but i have been meaning to ask you howard... What are your thoughts on the super lanboy from antec? Lastly, are there any good PS's that have detachable cables from the PS? like this one...

Could you link me to some reviews of the 320GB version?

Certainly. The Enermax Liberty series and Enhance ENS-0560G/Silverstone ST60F come to mind.

Storage review has a great thread in their forums, as do a couple of others that i checked out and compared benchies to the 750gb version reviews on anandtech and such.
Id link you to them, but i just reformated my drive. Got a perfect (for me) system finally. The only PITA i wish i could replace is my PS, its great dont get me wrong, but its only flaw..... To many fricken cables......When i say to many, i really mean it.
Are you not a fan of the drive? If so can i ask why?

Why DVD-ROM? Don't you want to burn CDs or DVDs? Get DVD Burner to burn those blank cds!

NEC ND-3550A DVD Burner=$31

I have an external burner, so I don't need to buy another one.

The VA8000 is said by more than a few places to have excellent airflow.
