sandigga is right, it really isn't a big deal to switch sides. (... Must resist making lame Star Wars joke... hmmmmppffff...) I have been living in Japan for almost six years now (left side). In my first year I actually went and got a Japanese driver's license for convenience (you are allowed to ride 50cc scooters), but I needed to take a driving test in a car to get it. It was my first time ever to drive on the left, and I did actually fail the test, but my problem was not with staying on the left side of the road but with finding the indicator switch . I managed to clean the window instead of indicating in a few turns, so I was asked to try again. The second time around I passed without a single mistake, though.
Anyway, I travel home (Hungary - right side) quite often, and I always adjust right away. If you do have a problem with staying on the correct side, however, the important thing to remember is that the driver is always closer to the center of the road.
RossMAN, my wife and I will most likely move to in Melbourne in the spring of 2004 if I cannot find a job in Japan after graduation. Wanna start some geek operation together?
<EDIT>Hey, Aquaman, I am going to Adelaide in a week (to see my Lady )!!! Are you from Adelaide by any chance?
She told me they never walk around with bare feet because of the spiders and other beasts.</EDIT>
