Constantly receiving data

Hey everyone,

I have a wireless network adaptor (WG121) running on WinXP SP2. Whenever I check the status of the adaptor I notice that it is constantly receiving data. The 'bytes received' column continuously adds up even when I stop all internet traffic with Kerio Personal Firewall or ZoneAlarm. I ran spyware / virus scanners (each updated before) and they didnt find any problems...does anyone have an idea of what I should do...other than disable to the adaptor until I fix this heh.

What network are you connected to?

If the excessive activity is Internet related the Firewall log would show where it is coming/going from/to.

If the excessive traffic is LAN related you can use this utility to find out which ports and IPs are involved. http://www.ezlan.net/infestation#process

If the Excessive activity is generated internally by Process or and program that are busiest at rest tine these two programs can show what is loaded at Start and running and active in memory.

the access points nearby (even ones not on your network) are beaconing and sending information. Your card is requesting and sending information as well. Wireless has connection related traffic not related to anything but the driver.
