Here's a keyboard that goes WAY beyond backlit keys. Each key is an individual OLED screen that can be programmed to display not only letters/characters, but graphics as well.

Art. Lebedev Studio's Optimus keyboard

I can't imagine any other keyboard topping THAT. Perfect for apps/gaming.

If you click the answers link on the provided link, you may get some answers...

It?s in the initial stage of production.

We hope it will be released in 2006.

It will cost less than a good mobile phone.

It will be real.

It will be OS-independent (at least it?s going to be able to work in some default state with any OS).

It will support any language or layout.

Moscow is the capital of Russia.

Each key could be programmed to produce any sequence.

It will be an open-source keyboard, SDK will be available.

Some day it will be split (and made ?ergonomic?).

It will most likely use the OLED technology (e-paper is sooo slow).

Our studio is located two blocks from the Kremlin.

It will feature a key-saver.

Keys could be animated when needed.

It has a numeric keypad because we love it.

There?s no snow in Moscow in summer.

It will be available worldwide (why not?)

OEM is possible (why not?)

that's a sweet ass keyboard.

as for the new logitech keyboard... i see it as being useful to the MMO players out there more so than for FPS type games.

if i ever have the cash to get ahold of one of these i'm totally restarting my WoW account again lol

I call for a lock. This is a hot deals forum, not an "announce upcoming products" forum. That, and the keyboard is lame.

This thread is about 4 times older than your "join date"

HAHAHAHAHA

The thread was for the preorder deals which were relatively warm to hot depending on how badly you wanted them.....of course you would know being here for like 48hours...

Your account should be locked.

Read the thread, and you'll see the price was different.

Looks like the G7 mouse is now for sale on Logitech's website as well. No luck finding it in stock at any B&M stores tho.

The G15 also features a switch that turns off the 'Windows' key, so hitting that button accidentally won't end your game.

That's a pretty useful feature that I wish was on the Saitek Eclipse.

Cool, just ordered two G7 mice and a G15 keyboard. It's 5% off on the "SAVECUSTAPPR" promotion, plus they have free shipping, which is important here in Alaska

Has anyone ordered one of these, I am curious as to how they compare to the older MX510 mice.

i played COD2 on my friend's G5, and played same game on my MX500 (we have same rig - dell XPS w. similar card) and i think the mouse movement is much better on the G5. havent tried to G7 though. i will however grab a g5 from amazon seeing it as 50 bucks today

I've been using the G5 mouse for about a month now, and am overall pretty pleased with it. The on-the-fly dpi adjustment is pretty nice, comes in handy for shooting games. The major frustration I have with it so far is the middle mouse button not clicking like I want it to but scrolling up or down instead about 1/4 of the time. A little annoying, but not bad.

I currently have the MX700 and am looking at the MX518, G5 and G7. The MX518 "only" has 1600 dpi vs. the 2000 dpi of the G5/G7, but the latter 2 are missing that extra side button. On one hand, it would be nice to never have to worry about batteries, but on the other hand I'm not sure I can go back to using a mouse with a cord.

Has anyone used BOTH the MX518 and G5/G7? If so, was there any noticeable difference between 1600 and 2000 dpi? And is the G7 truly just like using a wired mouse, or does it suffer from lag? Thanks.
