CoolPix995 + AE Blue Revisited!

After waiting by the mailbox a couple weeks, I finally received my American Express Blue card! While I was flipping through the brochures and stuff, I didn't see anything about price matching. I did get the right card correct? (American Express Blue for Student)

Anyways, my goal is of course the CoolPix995 , did any of the process changed? Goto Ritz, order from them via AE Blue. Tell them about cameraworld's deal to shave it off 90some dollars, then print out regency camera's coolpix995 page and call AE for price matching?

I think the BVG benefit is only available with the regular AmEx Blue card, not the student version.

sorry to say.. the student version doesn't cover BVG... that's why i cancelled mine and reapplied for the regular one.. have any of you guys received a "transparent" AmEx Blue card? Mine is, I don't know if it's the new style or if I got an "error card" (baseball card guys'll know what I mean)

You can call the customer service and tell them you want to change your Blue for Student to the regular Blue card, then you don't have to fill in anything.

I just recently got my AMEX blue card as well and it is transparent. I've only pulled it out twice and both times I got comments about how cool it was. I must admit, those AMEX marketing guys are pretty smart. If the card is cool, people talk about it.

Anyways, looks like regency camera up-ed their price once again, and the $100 rebate from nikkon is gone as well... ahwell, guess it's time to wait for a better deal once again

With those prices for CF memory next to it they must think they can draw you in with a cheap camera then sucker you into memory at 3 o 4X what it should be or a "lithiom" (sic) battery.

i usually get my checks in 2-3 weeks.

Ahh dammit! Haha, I am definitely falling short of that income =b Hrmm, maybe I can ask my parents to help me out and apply for a blue card... it does look kinda cool after all!

Hrmm, is AE Student any good? I already have a mastercard, think I should just cancel the AE and use it as a scraper for my reef tank? =) On a sidenote, I am looking for another credit card... ideally a VISA, but is there any good deal? Don't want air-fare reward since I rarely travel...

When they ask for your household income, don't forget to include your parent's income.

Just got a $250 check from amex today for PM coopix 995 with regency. submitted the claim on 12/22 and they received the paperwork on 12/26, got the check on 01/19. I was so worried because regency raised the price of 995 right after I submittd the claim. callled several times, they always said that it has yet to be processed and I have to wait until 01/26 to call again. I was so surprised to get the check today. It was a week earlier and I already got the check. SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!! AMEX RULES!!!!!!!!

The Student Amex Blue doesn't have the BVG (Pricematch capabilities); only the regular Amex Blue has it. And yes, if you recently got the Amex Blue, it is the transparent card. It's nice.

Actually, I used my Optima Platinum for PM. But, nowhere could you find the BVG under the card benefit. I called amex before I made the purchase, they said that I have this benefit. it is just that they don't put it out there at their wensite. So, if you want to do PM with amex, call them first to find out if you are covered under BVG.

When they ask for household income, would that include student loans. I get more than 25k in loans a year.

Putting household income of your parents only works if you aren't independent.

I asked to change my student to regular and it qould require an additional application. Oh BTW, if you want a credit line increase, it won't happen until 1 year of regular payments with student card. Not 6 months.
