Instead of deescalating the scene he escalated it putting not only the civilians but himself and his fellow officers in greater danger than necessary.

Seriously this is it. ^^^

Forget all the racial crap, forget about how this nut roll started. Billy bad ass in his white socks made a bad situation worse. We should be able to expect "trained" adults to be able to deal with kids in bikinis without having to resort to throwing them to the ground.

The man was a freaking supervisor, he should have been providing leadership on scene instead he was running around like a crazy man.

Luckily his boss doesn't agree with you.

If I'm not mistaken it is standard practice to be put on administrative leave until any investigation is done. He should receive some sort of reprimand for his language. Paperwork, small suspension, something. As a public figure you just can't talk like that to anyone. No matter if they're cussing you like a dog, you can't do it back. But I have no issues with him pulling the gun when the two males started to confront him. His yelling and cussing is what escalated it, and shouldn't have happened.

you're the type of moron that can only see past their own nose. never could put yourself in anyone else's shoes huh? everything in your world is right and anything outside of that, well then, people simple deserve what they get. you're the type of person that always says, well, that could never happen to me or my family. i hope one day you're put into a situation where you have to make a decision where your distorted views of how the world is supposed to work and operate is crushed.

i actually sorta pity people like yourself.

No idea how you've concluded that about me by my post. She did warrant being put on the ground, she wasn't listening. You don't know a thing about me. I would bet that I have lived on more continents, in more countries, and have lived a far more diversified life than most people who post here. Don't try to assume you know me. I have walked in many different pairs of shoes.

Thing about that is, I wouldn't put myself in that position again. I did that years ago, got into legal trouble. Been arrested a few times, probation, etc. One speeding ticket in over 20 years since. And yes I know for a fact that my daughter or other kids would not act like any of those kids at the pool. That's a fact, if you don't like it, then oh well.

And the case was dismissed. The question is how often do cops have such suits brought against them?

in any case, his character really is irrelevant here, since we can see all of his actions on camera and judge them on their own.

What's the issue? That he pinned down a girl in her "bikini" who was acting like a complete twat or that he drew on "unarmed teens" who in fact were acting very aggressively?

you tell me how often these suits get brought up against cops. please provide detailed stats.

and you know all of this just by watching the video? she was acting like a twat and the cop's little feelings get hurt and decides to slam a 95 lb teenage girl to the ground, to prove what exactly? that's he's in charge? that he's the boss? give me a break.

they were acting aggressively? i saw no aggression. i saw a few of the girls approach their friend when the police office tried to detain the girl by dragging her to the ground then the boys saw what was going on, and were most likely friends with the girl, ran over to the other side of the cop to see what was going on and to help their friend out.

all i saw was a bunch of friends concerned about the well being of their other friend who was being detained by the police for mouthing off. guess mouthing off is a crime now huh? i guess teens should just skip that part of their life and just jump straight to adulthood.

and i posted this earlier but you seemed to have skipped it and went on your tirade about how she acted.

There are stories about Twitter being used to get a bunch of people, flash mod style, to go to the pool and I'd like to know has anyone followed up on this? That is, if this story is true there should be proof of this on Twitter unless this has been removed.

So, what's the deal with this story?

People from the community claim the pool party was organized on twitter. They claimed that the person who organized it charged $15 to get in...There has been no evidence to support this claim.

And Freddie Gray broke his own neck. And Victor White shot himself in the chest while his hands were handcuffed behind his back while seated in the back of the police car and he'd been searched twice for weapons. And Tamir Rice shouldn't have drawn down (with his toy gun) on the police...

Appropriate

I know, right. Who wouldn't resign if the brain trust of the general population refuses to support you while you are attempting to control a hundred or so teenagers actively fighting while trespassing after assaulting someone as they advance on you and refuse to comply with your legal commands?

don't forget pulling a gun to assert dominance.

a beta male would have just got everyone to leave peacefully.

Having been apart of these type of parties and even been apart of groups that thrown these in high school, I can see where the cop was coming from.

Funny how all the other officers seemed to be able to maintain their cool during the situation.

And that's what I was getting at...

If there was a call out on Twitter to go to the pool and this was the start of things then you'd think there would be some proof of this on ... Twitter.

The other thing I'm wondering about is the events that preceded the arrival of the police. There have been conflicting stories about kids jumping over the fence and other stories about one or more white women making racist statements. With everyone with smartphones you'd think there would be some video of the events before the police arrived.

Funny how all the other officers didn't have two people already actively breaking the law advancing on them while subduing a suspect. Probably a lot easier to maintain your cool when you aren't being encroached upon by people disregarding the law while you enforce it.

It really didn't appear to be a dangerous party. Loud, obnoxious yes. Maybe a better plan would have been wait for more cops to show up then disperse the teens.

They were already breaking the law and there were reports that fights were breaking out amongst the teens. There was already the bit about someone assaulting a woman. They forced their way past security guards and disregarded instructions to leave. They showed absolutely no regard for the rule of law the entire time they were there, then started advancing on a cop. Sure, strength in numbers would have been better for the cops, but in that interim who knows what could have happened. These cops had the stones to go into a situation where they were grossly outnumbered, and now a bunch of nimrods what to hang them by the stones. Joke of a society.

You're an idiot

Ok, mister more idiot than an idiot.

Agree completely. It isn't about race, it's about cops and their seeming ability to turn any situation into a complete clusterfuck.

Well since you explained it so well I guess he did an exemplary job. Those other useless cops around him getting the job done without pointing a gun or making a scene should be fired immediately. They should be led better....err wait....

What about the part where he slams a 14yo girl down for mouthing or berates random teens because he is winded after combat rolling and sprinting nowhere for 3 minutes? How about when he shoves random teens to the ground? Him pulling his gun on some teens is the most logical action he took.

It was about race. Somebody called 911 because they saw a bunch of black kids in the white place. Musta thought the race war was coming or something.
