Cordless Telephone recommendations??????

Got a WorstBuy gift card for Bday & since I probably won't buy anything from them anytime soon, I thought I might compliment my new VOIP service w/ a new phone(s).


Any recommendations????

(I like the idea of having a handset by the router, but then having another handset in the family room that doesn't need a phonejack so it can be right nearby!)

wow welcom o the 90's. BTW get a 5.2GHz so it doesn't interfere with the router (if it's a wireless one).

Oh, I've had a 900mhz phone for several years, but I'm lookin' to "upgrade" to a multiple-handset type of system.

VOIP takes the phone away from the jack in the kitchen (easy access) and puts it by the router in front of the house (not easy access).


And, BTW, I think you mean 5.8Ghz!!

Well, there appear to be plenty of cheap 5.8Ghz phones too........(BB shows one on ad this week for $9.99!! Yeoww!)..........which actually brings up another question.......


I've heard complaints of VOIP's voicemail.

I wonder if it'd be worth getting a phone w/ answering system......(actually what I have now in 900Mhz)......or just let the VOIP's voicemail do the work???

There's a "hot" deal for a 4-handset offer for $20 or less from Office Depot. Quality unknown, may be ok. I plan to buy something tomorrow, too.

Panasonic. Just about anything else is disposable crap that you toss away in a year.

id personally recommend against this...the cheaper ones usually don't last as long, physically speaking, and the SOUND quality varies drastically. At college everyone had cordless phones in their rooms and i got to use a lot of dif ones, and the cheap ones sounded terrible and the cheap Uniden ones usually broke

edit: find out their return policy and try to see if u can test one out w/o a open box return fee if u don't like it

I mean, I bought a VTech for my lab, and it was great. I bought another for my house, and it was trash and I took it back. I'm happy with the Panasonics that we have in the lab and now in my house.

Actually, the 900MHz phones will interfere with some ADSL modems that Bellsouth has put out, so take you're chances if ya buy one.

I got in on a Panasonic 5.8GHz hot deal recently and have been happy with it.
