Corsair 850TXv2 or 1050HX

Hey guys,

So basically my current 850TXv2 is having problems. It will make odd rattling noises and it's not the vibration from it hitting my case. It also made this weird noise in certain areas of Skyrim on the map screen. Anyways I decided to RMA it with Corsair but it's been out of stock for weeks.

They offered the 1050HX and I was wondering if that PSU was worthy replacement of the 850TXv2.

It's definitely a good replacement in terms of power. plus i think the HX line is 80 plus silver whereas the TX are only 80 plus bronze, if that sort of thing matters to you. additionally, the HX has modular cabling.

Are they offering it as a replacement without you having to pay more? If so, absolutely take it, it is superior in every possible way (modular, efficiency, build quality, noise). $220 new vs $105 for yours. Seems like a no brainer? Surprised they didn't just offer an HX750.
