Ok, first question. I am planning on upgrading to a socket 939 A64 CPU, and would like to overclock. I have PC4200 OCZ memory, so it is decent latency but capable of pretty high FSB. Would I have a better chance of getting the 3200 with the 10 multi, or going with the 3000 with the 9 multi. Obviously if the performance is anywhere close I would like to save the cash.
Second question is tougher I think. I have a P4 running at 3GHz, the PC4200 memory, a P4C800E Dlx motherboard, and my power supply is doing just fine. My vidcard is a 6800OC with everything unlocked (16x1, 6vp). In 3dmark 03 at stock settings I score around 93xx and on 05 I get around 3500. However, when I run the anandtech HL2 demos my scores are WAAY low. When they ran canals at 1024x768 they got around 8x fps. When I run at the exact same settings I get like 55ish. This is pretty puzzling, as my 3dmark scores seem to be about where they should. I am using the 71.20 drivers btw, installed since I have had the card. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I would really like to play this game at 1280x1024.
