you guys are doubting the power of this thing im running a crt screen at 1280 x 1024, playing metro 2033 on high in dx 10 and battle field bb2 maxed dx10 single player, bioshock 2 fully maxed out, bulletstorm did ok with everything on high with post processing on med. i would say its a solid system till crysis 2 came along..lol
sorry but you are not running all those games at those settings and playing them smoothly. again its a fact that my cpu at 1.4 would be faster than your 2.8 Pentium D and I know darn well you would not average more than 30fps in some of those. and I would hate to see what your minimum framerate is. tbh your cpu does not even meet the minimum requirements to play Metro 2033 or Bad Company 2.you guys are doubting the power of this thing im running a crt screen at 1280 x 1024, playing metro 2033 on high in dx 10 and battle field bb2 maxed dx10 single player, bioshock 2 fully maxed out, bulletstorm did ok with everything on high with post processing on med. i would say its a solid system till crysis 2 came along..lol
yes it newer games that cpu is too weak to handle anything above low settings and even then it struggles in many cases. a 2.8 Pentium D would be even slower than my E8500 lowered to 1.4.

looks good on my crt screen... look im a scavenger i basically made this out of free parts and things people didn't want, only bought the gpu and ram. mid level gaming im not spending a crap load on a Sapphire AMD Radeon HD6850 1GB when the games i got already look fine to me solid no got alot out of it i think yes because i started with a amd sempron 1.8gh 512mb ram with a 6150 le then went to the free dual core last year cant complain.
both metro 2033 and bad company 2 run around 30fps and metro only drops at super intense scenes at the res i told you there is no need to lie. i just dont run alot of precesses while i play surprise surprise game runs smoother.sorry but you are not running all those games at those settings and playing them smoothly. again its a fact that my cpu at 1.4 would be faster than your 2.8 Pentium D and I know darn well you would not average more than 30fps in some of those. and I would hate to see what your minimum framerate is. tbh your cpu does not even meet the minimum requirements to play Metro 2033 or Bad Company 2.

then what is the point of this thread? you asked if your cpu was slowing down games and when we tell you yes, you start claiming it plays all these new games fine. your cpu IS too slow for many newer games to play smoothly and that is a fact but if you are happy then carry on.looks good on my crt screen... look im a scavenger i basically made this out of free parts and things people didn't want, only bought the gpu and ram. mid level gaming im not spending a crap load on a Sapphire AMD Radeon HD6850 1GB when the games i got already look fine to me solid no got alot out of it i think yes because i started with a amd sempron 1.8gh 512mb ram with a 6150 le then went to the free dual core last year cant complain.
30 fps average is not what many people would call decent for most shooting games. and I bet if you ran a benchmark you would find out that you are not even averaging that during any action at all. and your min framerate is probably pretty close to single digits at times in a game like BC 2 and Metro 2033.both metro 2033 and bad company 2 run around 30fps and metro only drops at super intense scenes at the res i told you there is no need to lie. i just dont run alot of precesses while i play surprise surprise game runs smoother.
yea thanks for the in put bro im currently lookin into the phenom ii x6 3.2 with a sli motherboard.... im a graphic design artist and studio producer and mess with video rendering alot so dont criticize the 6 cores lol more cores more crap i do i only have a computer and dj equipment for entertainment.Sure, getting a computer for nearly free is nice, but I got a Pentium 4 2.26ghz for free in what, 2004? At times it wasn't even fast enough for my Geforce 3 in some games at low res.
Lets not kid ourselves, you need to upgrade that CPU to something semi-modern to enjoy these games. If the motherboard can support a Core2, get an E6600/6800 from somewhere. That's the right kind of CPU to pair with a GT 240.

well to be fair that is very high DX11 with tessellation. he is running just high DX10 which would be much much faster. he still is not getting a smooth experience no matter what he claims though.LOL, if my card BARELY manages to get 30 fps @ 1280*1024 running with an i7, whatever hobo gave you those parts must have lied to you, BADLY.

Not trying to be rude, for real.

please entertain us with some videos showing your framerate during BC 2 and Metro 2033 during action. I know for a FACT that you would be very close to single digits at times. hell I have tested BC 2 with my E8500 at 1.8 and hit 13-14 fps during heavy action. your 2.8 Pentium D would still be much slower than my E8500 at 1.8. but hey if you know everything there is no point in starting threads like this is there???its been fun arguing bro but i got my answer my gpu is faster than my cpu you dont have to coment any more. single digits thats funny tho thats good.
single player on bb2 online it craps it self so i have to go to dx9 metro hits 19 or 25 but playable havent touched it in a while tho. those rat things man!!! they bother me...
