LOL, AMD's will usually only seat one way. Not sure a person could install it wrong.
Isn't it same for Intel too? there are two small notch on both sides of the CPU, it wont fit in the socket unless the notches are aligned...

Trust me - it can be done. I've seen it. In the process, I had an epiphany of sorts. You should never, ever underestimate the ingenuity of an idiot who owns a rubber mallet collection.
One of which he used to insert his CPU. He couldn't understand what went wrong, because (being rubber) "it was insulated".
It all worked out in the end, though. I helped his wife buy him a nice Dell. She even put a nice engraved chassis security padlock on it, too.
