CPU overheating...maybe

My processor has been getting warmer and warmer under load.
When playing half life I've gotten up to 60 degrees from the on die sensor.
When I place my hand on the metal of the heat sink, it feels a little warmer than room temperature,
but definitely not hot.

Is it possible the heat isn't making it to the heatsink because of poor connection?

Maybe you can just check your heatsink after your CPU has been under load and
tell me if it warm.

What kinda cooler do you have and which CPU? Do you have at least 1 fan blowing in and 1 blowing out of the case(2 blowing in and 2 blowing out is prefered). Also make sure there isnt any dust build up on your heatsink.

I'm worried about the CPU->Heatsink transfer
The heatsink just isn't very warm, and the air coming
out from the heatsink is just luke warm.

No real dust build up. I have the powersupply fan,
which blows out lots of hot air, and a case fan blowing out,
right below the powersupply, and right next to the cpu.
The fan on the CPU itself is cruising around at 3.3K RPM.

and tell me if it's warm/hot/cool after full load--------

Doesnt matter any heatsink is gonna be warm. If its warm to the touch its fine but if its so hot its got you worried then you should look into better cooling. I would try taking the side panel off and running under full load and check you temps if they are in mid 40's-50's then you need more air flowing into your case.

Also some motherboards can be off on temps aswell.
