I have an ABIT KX7-333 mother board with an Athlon XP 1900 chip. I have got my machine booting up but whenever I go into the BIOS and change the CPU type from the current setting (1500+133) to the correct setting, 1900 and save the changes, then the machine reboots but doesn't come up again. The only way to get it booting is to take the power supply out the back and turn it off wait for a minute or two and then turn it back on, if I then go into the BIOS it has reset itself to a 1500+133 can you tell me what is going on ?
Also I have noticed the CPU that it detects in the BIOS is an AMD Athlon (TM) and not an AMD Athlon (TM) XP, so does the BIOS need flashing ? Also on boot up it comes up with the memory test and then after that it says "CPU is unworkable", but you can press F1 and boot into the OS anyway.
Can anyone help ?
