CPU/RAM Question

So, ATM I have a Biostar P4VMA-M (I know, it's crappy, but hey, it was hella cheap and my old one got fried), however, that's not the problem, or the question.

I've noticed my computer running slow, but always thought it was the motherboard, however, now, i'm not so sure, and it may in fact be the CPU/RAM, and perhaps part of the motherboard as well.

So my question is, I have a P4 Northwood (533mhz FSB), and 1gb of pc3200 ram slapped onto this micro-atx of mine, the ram timings are absolutly insane, I also thought that was the motherboard, I saw the other day that (most? I hope) motherboards don't support 533mhz FSB p4's and pc3200 ram together... Are there any motherboards that DO support the 533fsb/pc3200 combo? I spent quite a bit on the RAM and I don't wanna just get rid of it in favor for cheaper RAM. :/

The memory should work fine in that system. The PC3200 will just clock down to the speed the system can handle unless PQI memory will not clock down which I do not think is the case. Have you updated the BIOS and tried re-installing the system drivers, I.E. chipset drivers and video card drivers? Maybe relax the timings a bit to see if that helps.
