1 30 gb hard drive
exhaust on power supply
1 2600 fan blowing air in from front of case
1 2600 fan blowing air out from back of case

Its a little warm but I don't know your ambient temp. It is nothing to worry about though you are still well within spec.

oh ok, i just got worried because every software program monitor that i have says that its burning up (gives a flame by the temp readout) im using speedfan 4.08, is that program designed for a different range of processors or something? oh, and just out of curiosity, what is the temp that i should be worried if my cpu reaches?

btw, what are the temparature specs that you were talking about when you said. "It is nothing to worry about though you are still well within spec". what is the spec on a p4 2.4b?

oh and speedfan is saying for temp 1 32, temp 2 49, and hd0 36. Can anyone tell me what temp 1 and 2 represent? yes i know that they have a faq about this "common question" but the link to give you the specifics on each of the procesors doesn't work. thats why im asking.

Temp 1&2 are system & cpu.

Also, I can't remember the exact temp ceiling for a 2.4b but I can assure you that you are no where near it,
Unless you are a hardcore oveclocker you don't need water cooling.

Who said they leak a lot? Who ever they are, they are not water cooling properly. They might have forgotten to leak test before install.

im not sure the exact model of the case, probably generic. I have tucked every wire so that it doesn't impair airflow. It has two front intakes, 1 back exhaust(and power supply fan) and side vents. i haven't looked that much into watercooling, it was just something i heard and wanted to know what you guys thought. thanx

i just wanted to know, does anyone know what the exact specs are on the p4 2.4b? is there a temparature that is desirable for longer cpu life? does it matter? if so how much? thanx in advance

Exact Spec:

If your processor is dissapating (its not) 59.8W the thermal solution should be designed so that the temp on the center of the IHS (center of the metal cap on CPU) does not exceed 71c.

Given your system temps of 89.6f it seems you are having no trouble dissapating the heat into the case air. You could easily lower your temps by getting that heated air out of the case.

As long as your temps don't consistently stay in the 70c range your processor will have long been obsolete before it dies on you.

Change your airflow patterns I have two intakes in front and two exhaust in back plus a side panel exhaust. My Rig

ok i have a though and want to know what you think...
take the exhaust fan that i have right now(2600rpm), and make it my second intake fan. buy a high speed fan and make it my new exhaust. think that would help? other ideas as far as improving airflow goes.
thanx in advance

Yes it would probably help provided nothing is impeding airflow. Mine stay kind of low because its about three feet away from an a/c vent.

Yeah, but even when I move it away it never gets above 49c after hours of Prime95.

Just for comparison, I have a 2.4B in an Antec 1080amg case. I have one intake in the front and one on the side. and two exhausts. I normally run idle at 35-37 and 40-45 under heavy load.

edit: I also have a vantec aeroflow as my HSF
