cpu usage 100%

Was wandering why my CPU usage is going up to 100% and staying there while playing EQ2 also on the taskmanager part,,where it shows CPU usage,,the bar is full green 100% and then there is also red in it as well,,like 30% of it

Am I getting this right? You're asking why a game is using your CPU?
Wouldn't you be rather disappointed if it only used 50% of your CPU?

no the thing is,,,it shouldnt be using a constant 100% cpu usage,,,,usually runs at 75% tops,,not to mention the red in the task manager now ?
I know a game is supposed to use CPU but not that much...

I don't think games use up 100% (at least not all the time)
but it does stay at 100% usage in the Task manager for most games.

A game will always have something to spend CPU cycles on, be it some AI calculations, keeping track of what you're doing or not doing, or just plain redrawing the screen.

EQ2 can and will cause 100% CPU usage on your computer. I have an Athlon64 3000+ overclocked to 2.5ghz and it uses 100% CPU. Frankly I'd be worried if a game as taxing as EQ2 can become (and that's on balanced settings and not max) doesn't use 100% CPU.

EQ2 will use 100% CPU, and this is normal.

I don't have this problem, my rig usually runs around 80% steady with peaks up to 100%.
