Craigslist full of scammers?

Trying to sell my car and this guy offers to buy it without even test driving, let alone seeing it in person. Fishy?

..... I'll be responsible for the pick-up....
movers money will be included in your payment to avoid delay, cost of
postage and to enable them schedule an appropriate time for the pick-up
at your location as i have other items to be moved.....would really love
to come for the viewing but due to my work frame that might not be
possible....so please do get back to me with your FULL NAME AND ADDRESS
INCLUDING YOUR MOBILE AND LAND NUMBER

my strict rules for craigslist are 1.) only deal local (meaning you need to see and meet the person face to face) and 2.) Cash only. Follow those two rules and you should be ok.

Do the deal, but do not ship the truck. When you get the 'cashiers check' call the issuing bank to verify it is legit.

I have a few fake checks for $4500-$10000

Probably downloaded this from another site, but that is the typical scam. He sends a cashier's check and you are to send a portion to the 'mover' which is also him.

Mover never shows up and the charges are pulled out of your account.

If you are really selling a car FS/T here could work well.

The car classifieds are flooded with scammers on Craigslist. I have been browsing around used car classifieds for the last couple months, and I've inquired about a few listings. I get these ridiculous emails back about how the guy is not in America but the car is, and he needs this and that and this happened and that happened.....BS.

Also, be aware of deals that appear to good to be true.

They like to put listings up for good vehicles with low miles at cheap prices.

EX: 1999 Honda Accord, 51XXX miles, $2900

2002 Audi A4, 35XXX miles, $5900

I've sold a bunch of stuff on CL, but I only deal face to face & with cash ... I strongly suggest you do the same.

And for like the 5 millionth time: Rule #1 of buying/selling online ... if you have to ask "is it a scam?" IT IS!!!
