I am trying to create a simple d: drive on this PC and the darn thing wont give me any options to do so...

So I am asking if someone can please tell me how I can bring these options in Disk Management back, or if someone can point me in the direction of some free 3rd party software so I can create this partition and go home.

you mean you right click on the drive and "create partition" or whatever is disabled (aka greyed out)?

I have disk management open, I am looking at the drives as a bar graph, I right click on the drive c: and I don't get the option at all, not even greyed out.

I didn't think that you could just create a partition in Win2k... anyway, I was thinking Partition Magic had a demo, but it doesn't allow you to keep your changes, so forget that... maybe there's something released under the GPL. If not, well, maybe find a friend who has a copy of PM or something... or just bite the bullet and reinstall and create the partitions at that point.

I'd let you borrow my copy of PM, if I knew you.

I tried to create the partition during setup but I was unable to create a partition on the main drive. Win2K would only allow me to create a partition equal to the full size of the disk.

Every version of Windows 95 and up has been able to create partitions! No need for PM for something as simple as that.

CSFM I think your problem is that since you created a partition the entire size of the disk there is no free space, hence no option to create a partition. I know for a fact that you can create a partition that takes only part of the disk in a Win2k install. I do it on almost a daily basis!! Now if you did create a partition the entire size of the drive then you will need some 3rd party software to shrink your partition now and then add a new one.
