Im getting a new computer, the case, monitor and PSU is already bought. (Samsung widescreen, ultra microfly, and xfinity 600w if your curious).

The rest:
Intel e4300 $113
Evga 8800gts superclocked 330$ (my reasoning is that if it comes factory overclocked, chances are that it can overclock better.)
4x1b sticks of ddr2667 wintec ampo-$120
abit F-I90HD $115
320gb sata Maxtor $70
Lite on dvd burner 30$

Any thoughts?

some case fans; if you are planning on overclocking, you should get an aftermarket CPU cooler.

i dont know. i just played the new DIRT demo on my 7800gt/opteron165 rig thats nicely overclocked- and it doesnt even run. at moderate settings, i get 1/2 a frame a second at MOST! it takes normally about 5 sec to update each frame hahaha. the only way to play is running it at 800x600 medium detail. why im sayin this because i wouldnt be surprised if even the 8800gts struggles.

You should stick with 2 gigs of ram and get something faster...DDR800 or faster, to allow for better overclocking of your e4300.

Don't get the superclocked version...get the 640MB version for cheaper AR than the superclocked:

Then obviously...an aftermarket cooler such as the Artic Cooling Freezer 7

Don't know about the mobo but I would go with the gigabyte DS3

Lastly, I would spend $7 more for a SATA DVD burner:

1. I was thinknig about that, however can't i run it at a 1:1 ratio for 9x333? I think more ram would actually be more useful than faster ram if i do that. Correct me if im wrong of course.

2. Anandtech said they reached more than 3ghz on stock cooling, but i dunno...

3. I heard the Mobo was great at overclocking so thats what i chose. What is good about the gigabyte DS3?

4. this is my dvd burner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106070

Lastly, i knew most people would recommend better the normal version instead of the superclocked, but for around $30 more, i can't resist . Also, its one of my friends offering me to sell his, so that factors in aswell.

Overall, it looks very nice . Me likes.

One thing to consider (and it may not even apply in your case) -- I think you may have limited options as far as PCI cards with that Abit Fatal1ty F-I90HD board. I was considering that board too, and from the pictures I saw, the one and only PCI slot will almost completely block the 8800 GTS intake fan because the PCI slot is next to dual slot video cards. Not a problem if you don't need PCI cards, of course.

Anyways, good luck with the build!

To both PurdueRy and thecrecarc -

He can't get the Gigabyte DS3. He said his case is a MicroFly (a SFF case). The DS3 is a regular ATX board, not a microATX. Gigabyte does make a S2 though that is microATX.

Poor reasoning. Odds are if it's factory overclocked it'll only go as far as they've pushed it, and with EVGA the pre-overclocked models are not eligible for a step-up program.

Eh... dang. I didnt know that.... i guess ill go with the normal version then. Thanks for the tip!

Edit: wait... where does it say that on EVGA's website? I dont see it...
