Not to turn the thread around, but the Supra was turbo'd, with VERY large turbos. It takes a little bit for them to spool up and "kick in".

No your exactly right, but thats my point, but in order to catch up you have to be going faster then the person racing, he shouldn't have just cought up to the guy, he should have left him in the dust in the process.

Edit: Not saying that the drag was anything close to accurate, but I have seen some turbo'd cars have what appeared to be a slow launch only to rocket past their challengers once the turbo's spooled up to full boost.

Nevermind, see thats what I was meaning, I think I may have worded wrong, In the race, he should have as you said "Rocketed past" the Challenger

<< I must say that this movie just plain sucks! I had to turn it off after only 10 minutes... couldn't stand it. I've only ever done that with one other movie in the last few years, LIFE (Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawerence). Maybe I'm just not a fighting movie fan or can't stand dubbing...

I think the problem with CTHD is that they made it with western audiences in mind, so it didn't really have the essence of a good HK movie. But, it proved that HK movies can fair well here, and did improve receptiveness towards them.

People also consider themselves movie critics and try and convey that anybody that does not regard this movie as one of the best films ever made are idiots. And of course it's not the best movie ever, not even in the top 5 best of last year IMO, but it's a whole lot better than Battlefield Earth.

There's a reason most movies get a certain actor/actress to begin with, not some third-rate punk who does a voiceover.

Yep, that's what I do. But not everyone has a DVD player, and VHS are usually dubbed...

ya the movie did suck. it had good fight scenes, but if i wanted to watch fake fighting i'd watch pro wrestling. you have to put something else in the movie. but this probably appeals to some peeps out there who watch it and go.... whoa!!!!cool they can fly!!!

Dude Gladiator was not at all overated, what an awesome movie. Civilizations could only dream to have a history like the Roman's did.

Yeah, it was pretty good. (I even bought the DVD) But it wasn't the best movie of the year, so in that sense, IMO it was overrated.

ashamed to admit it publicly?.....i rant about it all the time in public becuase that just SUCKED the reading sub titles for 2 hours didn't obther me but the flying got so friken annoying.......decent plot and such but if they just cut out the hey look at me im running on the side of a wall crap it woulda been so much better

some movies are unrealistic to the point where it doesn't bother you or its comical like jackie chan but that was ridiculous

On the other hand, I thought Gladiator was standard 'epic' material. It did a good job, but it was predictable. Best movie of last year should've gone to Traffic, methinks.
