zOner, looks like you got PC100. 256MB PC133 isn't listed for your mobo. You may want to double check.

DavidTigerFan, double check yours. I pulled up your mobo list and found the CT32M64S4D7E for $112.19. You may want to delete your cache and go back and try again. I had to delete my cache and cookies for Crucial to get up-to-date info.

I bought 128mb Crucial last August and paid $158 delivered. Tonight, I bought the same 128mb again and paid $57 delivered. Last month I caught the $100 Iomega CD-RW deal that was posted; the $30 refund came today so I spent it on the memory. Another great bargain!

Thanks for the update - it was definitely PC100. I had them change to PC133 and the unit cost is $112.

I have an Abit KT7raid mobo. When I enter crucial's site, I get 143.99 that includes 16.00 off their list of 159.99. When I use the 15% off link (it's below), I get, (for my mobo), 112.19 off a list of 131.99. It's very strange. The 15% off seems to also have a lower list along with 15% off instead of 10%. Use ebates and you can get 5% off if you can find out how to access the lower priced ram while still logged in through eBates. That's an additional 5.50 off for a price of 106.69 plus tax for CAS 2 256MB. This is a great deal. I already have 512 MB for my 2 computers but I might have to get this.

Well, I bought a 256 Mb Cas2 Dimm. It was 112.19 +8.97 Tax for 121.16 minus 5% for eBates and 1% for using Discover card which makes my total including tax and free shipping at 113.89. I don't think it gets much cheaper but who knows. I use to think 100.00 for 128 Megs was cheap. Thanks for the post.

DVDKing, that was PC100 under the BE6 board.

I just got my 256MB stick Tuesday that I paid 135 + tax. I will be calling today to get the price difference. The key to getting the price difference is telling them that you want to return the memory. For $30 difference it would be cheaper for you to return and reorder, but it is cheaper for them to just credit you the difference. If they can't see that crediting the difference benefits them then just return the memory.

I bought 256MB of CL=2 for my A7V about two weeks ago and paid $160. Ouch.

Anway, I was curious to see if I had any recourse with regards to obtaining a "refund" of the difference since there has been such a huge price decrease in a short amount of time. Here is what I spied on their site (under 7. Return procedures):

<< [...snip...] Customer shall return the products to Crucial Technology in the original packaging and enveloped in the original antistatic bags. Crucial Technology will not be responsible for damaged parts if customer does not follow this process. Please retain shipping information, including tracking numbers, until your account has been credited by Crucial Technology or replacement product is received. If Crucial Technology determines that failure of the product(s) was not a result of a defect in materials or workmanship, Crucial Technology reserves the right to charge customer for parts and labor at Crucial Technology's then current labor rate or charge customer a 20% restocking fee. Crucial Technology will advise customer prior to assessing these charges. >>

Based on that info, looks like I'll eat the difference in price. On the bright side, $112.19 is an insane price for another 256MB of CL=2 memory.

256mb PC133 CAS2 is not listed as an option for an ASUS P3B-F (BX) mobo. Anyone know if there is a good reason for this?

Thanks,

(M),
Everyone knows that you can't run a P3B-F that high (wink).

Side Note: I love this place!!!

I know 133fsb is not "officially" supported, BTW 128mb PC133 is listed as one of the options for the P3B-F. That's what peeked my curiousity. I wasn't sure if there was something in the architecture of the BX chipset (or P3B-F) which prevented 256mb PC133. Anyone know?

(m) - When I do the memory selector method for my Asus CUBX mobo I get the same result. I can use 128-mb cas2 pc133 memory, but not 256-mb. I already have 2*128 of the cas2 pc133 running in my machine now. I guess it's time to buy 2*128 more.

If you don't find the module that you're looking for, do a search on a different computer. I found that the Abit SA6R will show chips for CAS2 & 3 for 32-256MB modules. Happy hunting!
