This actually could represent an all time low for this memory, esp. the 256meg Cas2 PC133 stuff. Here's my theory:

1) We are of course in the 1st quarter, after Xmas / end of year PC doldrums.

2) Micron/Crucial is about to introduce PC2100 DDR ram. Doing that will involve converting over much of their production line capacity to DDR manufacturing, which is only a little different, but it is different.

3) Crucial is pricing the fastest and best SDRAM now to clear inventories.

4) Once they've converted over to mostly, or a lot, of DDR memory manufacturing, Crucial SDRAMS at least may go back up in price, as they become more scarce.

Well, its a theory anyway.

BTW, Tom's is now agreeing with AnanadTech that DDR only increases system performance a very small amount ABOVE THE LEVEL OF KT133A boards, running fsb of 133 (or more, overclocked). (Further, there is considerable reason to think that AMD is having a hard time making the 760 DDR mobo chipset work well and stable. It was initially supposed to come out around Xmas.)

Great deal. I remember when I was excited last year that I could buy 128M Micron PC133 for $179.

Of course, I also remember being excited six years ago after driving two hours to buy a 8M 72-pin Simm for $299.

Picked one up for $116 ($4 tax). I can't believe I spent $150 on a 128MB Crucial DIMM back in July.

Now I'll have 512MB of RAM, just enough for WinME I'm sure.

Sha-weet!

While I don't recommend this practice to get your RAM at the cheaper price, I e-mailed customer service immediately after noticing I chose the 256MB PC100 CL2 instead of the PC133, and they upgraded me for free.

$101.99 + $8.16 tx = $110.15

Definite possibility; a week ago they showed the CT16M64S4D75 (128 MB CAS 3) modules, now they do not. (OOS?)

Get 'em while they're hot.

I called up Crucial to see if I could recieve the price difference of my RAM purchase from Monday, and the Representative checked with his supervisor and said the /best/ they could do was credit me only HALF of the price difference! I was okay with this though since I am getting 11.50 back, but I would have still liked to recieve the full difference. Oh well.

I just got off the phone with the CSR . At first, they only wanted to give me 18 dollars credit per module. I bought the 256MB module. I asked for 20 per module and she needed to talk to her supervisor. And voila, they decided to give me full refund. I believe, you'll just have to fuss a little. It worked for me.

45 dollars credit. mmmmm.. beer money...

what yall recommend this

[256MB] SDRAM, PC100 ? CL=2 ? Unbuffered ? Non-parity ? 8ns ? 3.3V ? 32Meg x 64 for $107.99 or

[256MB] SDRAM, PC100 ? CL=2 ? Unbuffered ? ECC ? 8ns ? 3.3V ? 32Meg x 72 for $120.59

or this
[128MB] SDRAM, PC133 ? CL=3 ? Unbuffered ? ECC ? 7.5ns ? 3.3V ? 16Meg x 72 for $63.89

what is the different between CL=3 and CL=2??which one is better in your opinion??thanks

Just called them, 2 minute conversation, and got 18.62 back for a 256 133 cl2, so they gave it to me for 118 instead 112 (I paid 135.99 + tax last Wednesday), well to ship it back to them would have been $5 minimum so I took their offer.
So if you bought your memory the last 30 days, give them a call.

Temptation is getting greater by the minute; you people must be sheer "EViL? trying to take all the money i have, I wanted to by a combo, board chip and ram from same place but with free shipping doesn't seem to make a difference. My delimna is however, since I'm not ready for my board and chip purchase (1 to 2 weeks) should I wait??????????????????
