What are the better instructions. BTW, I don't think you pay more for going through the MB search. The part # CT32M64S4D7E is $112 no matter how you find it.

Ordered when it dropped to $135 around 1/17. I called customer service out of the suggestions in the forum. Tara got $12 credited back. She said their policy is not to credit purchases, but then I told her I still had the box and anti-static bag and didn't want to have to return. She came back and offereed the $12. I left her alone after that and was happy. Crucial is a great company with great ram. Only problem now is deciding to go to 512 or 640 (already have a 128 and 256 and have 3 slots)

Crucial PC133 Cas2 is some of the best SDRAM memory that exists. In fact, nothing is clearly better.

Overclocking freaks have their individual favorites. Some swear by Muskin. Others Infineon. Others Crucial. The fact is that the best memory from all of them is extremely good. Nothing is clearly better than Crucial. Like CPU's however, some memory chips can run a bit faster than others. It's the luck of the draw. Just about all of crucial's best memory (above) can run at at least 143mhz fsb Cas2 however. You many need to drop to cas3 for faster. But at what point depends on the particular stick.

How come CT32M64S4D7E is $112 and CT32M64S4D8E is $101? The first is for unspecified system and teh second is for a random ABIT board I picked. They have the same specs for both. Can someone explain this to me? What is interesting is that everyone says going through specific m/b manufacturers would result in larger prices, but this example suggests otherwise.

Crucial uses micron memory only, packaged in micron dimms. It is Micron's retail arm, in fact. They pick out the good stuff. They also sell their best stuff to some other names, and as well some to lesser names.

Just wait until DDR becomes more mainstream and the pc133's are on the verge of obsolete.. then the quality RAM will be that much cheaper and I'll load two more 256 mb modules onto my computer.. it's a great deal for someone who didn't already buy their ram.. but there will be better ones in the months to come.. I for one will pass on this for now..

Phunktion,

A second possibility is that once DDR becomes mainstream SDRAM will become like EDO memory. More expensive as the supply dwindles.
