I just picked up a Cas2 stick for my Asus A7V, finally some real non-generic memory for a decent price. I need good memory for my system, I can't stand the blue screens of death. Haha

I just bought myself 2 sticks of PC133 256 MB memory from memman.com
Over at resellerratings.com, they were rated 6.7 out of 7 which is pretty good. They claimed their memory can do about 143 MHz CAS 2-2-2 and 161 MHz at CAS 3. Memory prices is so very much cheap today. Get it while it's hot.

I bought it. I couldn't resist the power of the Hot Deal. So, I picked up two 256MB sticks of the CAS2 PC133 RAM. $270 isn't bad at all. Thanks for the heads up on the deal too. Now I just need Intel to drop their prices and I'll be in business.

I can vouch for memman.com. They have great customer service. I had a module fail on me and I had a replacement module in my hands the morning after I called them.

So much fuss about CAS2 this and name brand that. I buy Memory they call "generic" @$42 for 128MB PC-133. Overclock all my systems and never had a problem. So 512MB costs me just $168 and maybe $12 shipping. Seriously, you doods notice ANY difference? Let me know...

I think the point is that he doesn't care what the CAS latency is. He's got 512 megs for cheap, so who cares if it's 5-10% slower than name brand CAS2 RAM that he could only afford 256MB of?

I'm not sure I can put up much of an argument, either! The brute force of 512MB RAM, regardless of CAS latency, is pretty sweet...

But I'm a performance freak, so I have to have decent CAS2 stuff. I can't explain it - it's just the way I am!

I ordered memory from Crucial for my laptop. At the time it was $96 for 128MB sodimm.
2 days later it dropped to $80. I called to get the difference back.
They said their policy is not to price adjust anything. I said fine, You have a 100% 30day satisfaction guarantee Please give me a RMA and I will purchase another one. The CSR said she would call me back in an hour with an RMA #. 2 hours later the CSR called me back and said she had credited my CC $16. I checked and she did. Don;t be afraid to call Crucial and get a RMA/Pricematch.

Generic is fine as long as you understand the reason you are getting a lower price. A 128 stick of generic is not the same as a similiar size of Corsair, Muskin, etc. The higher costs are in part related to the quality control, support structure like the easy to use Crucial site, etc. If you doubt there is a difference in modules then look at the review below. I am not making any statements about the quality of the memory source you have found but overall generic has a higher risk of failure associated with it. I had rather buy quality memory and not have to worry about troubleshooting, especially when people post deals like this where you can pickup 256 of CAS2 for $135 with shipping!
