NXT is a scam as far as I can see. All of it hoarded amongst a few originators and it setup in a way to benefit them most. Basically relying in everyone else to buy in to sustain it. There is something to be said for coins you mine in that anyone can put forth hardware and electricity to generate the currency. A currency created with everything generated from the get go and the bulk in the hands of the creators is not appealing.
Also I agree the interface and method of leaving a java app open is crap.

Doge is making Radeons a $$ printing machine .. AMD should change the name of their cards to Dogeon.
Spot on. It's the anti-thesis of cryptocoins where its decentralized, free and transparent.
NXT is a dirty scam and it need to die and fast.

fml sold at .7 what I could have gotten.
It's ridiculous how much the difficulty went up in the past few days. It's all pump and dump going on right now.I sold almost half a million around 50 satoshis. Now it's 100 satoshi+!
With difficulty soaring to 846+ I'm making fewer than 100K DOGE a day with my Radeons. Should have held onto it, but hindsight is 20/20.
🙁
I agree, there are a bunch of other issues with it:
1. promises a bunch of improvements without explaining how it will be done.
2. closed source code - huge red flag
Arbitrary messaging was just recently implemented, new clients are due this month. A lot is happening.
Source code of an earlier version was made public. Being a Java app, though, it is trivial to decompile the latest code and take a look at it. The devs also don't attempt to obfuscate the code.
when was source code made available? When I last looked it was closed source only, but it is quite possible my info is outdated
