Sorry guys. Hype & bullshit wins most of the time. Pandacoin wins (for the time being). Suck it up, buy in and sell to the suckers before it crashes. Or not, *shrug*, you lose out like I did when I decided to be lazy w/ VTC & MAX launches.

Disclaimer: I bought a tiny bit earlier and might be one of the suckers.

Also, compare NXT to Pandacoin. LOL.

...

Still mining TOP.... looks to be about 50% as much revenue as DOGE. Still need to look into MAX, but am too lazy.

Also, finally checked my power to the wall on my ITX steam box w/ a 7790. 120 watts total when mining. The CPU/Mobo pull ~80 easily.... it's getting 220 kH. That's crazy efficient. To bad they are so weak in total hash/density.

You may want to consider vert coin - SunnyD have a pool (on maintanace mode currently?). I was trying to mine there, but with my 7870 mining alone makes 0 sense
It was selling for as high as 0,01BTC, now diffculty is way lower. That coin seems to have a lot going for it. ASIC proof, multipool proof, no premine, etc.

I feel like it will be very popular coin in the future.

I tried the vertminer and I can only get 300kH/s with 2.5+ MH/s gpus. It was about 1/8 of normal. I couldn't figure out what I could adjust to get even half the hashrate so I haven't pursued it further (yet).

One more thought for solo miners.

Watch what is in your cgminer.conf while solo mining!

When I was trying to solo mine a coin, starting up CGMiner would reveal an alarming line:

Block change for
http://[solomining-wallet-for-COIN_A]:3333
detection via
stratum+tcp://stratum.[external-COIN_B-pool]:3333 stratum
If you solo mine, only have a cgminer.conf file with a pool (or multiple pools) of the same coin in the folder during that time. At least have the first failover pool be the same coin, I just removed the excess pools so I don't know if it would only take the first pool if there are other coins. Either way the difficulty was way off, I suspect this is why some people never find a coin solo mining (other than just the luck).

AKC dev says:
"Tomorrow will be update for diff and icon, and kgw will add. I will announce it from here and twitter!
Good minings to everyone"

I hope that reinvigorates the coin. Because Sunny's pool is almost 45% of the net hash rate now and is finding blocks left and right

Apparently pointing 5 MH/s at Sunny's pool pushed it over the edge from "unlucky" to "lucky". So many blocks found, and I'm already #1 block finder

The more I read about Pandacoin, the more I don't want anything to do with it.

Exactly the reason I essentially stayed away from it. Plus I also detest the Vertcoin implementation of scrypt - I'm convinced it's essentially broken.

But mostly because EVERYTHING about PandaCoin is a scam designed to make the dev rich quick. Everything from day 1 was a lie. And the worst part about it was trying to piggyback on the methodology of doge while going completely in the opposite manner of it.

I've been mining with 1MH/s for 2 days now. Found about 8 blocks, and I have less than 200k

8 blocks @ an average of 40k each = ~320k

320k / # of people on the pool = significantly less than ~320k.

That's how pools work. You share the workload, you share the reward.

Yep, I totally understand that part. However, the estimates under pool statistics are waaay off. I'm hardly making 10% of the estimated AKC/day.

That's because the coin target estimates are wrong, particularly with respect for difficulty. Hopefully the update coming today will fix that.

Plus, never rely on those.

Your best bet is to look at your transaction history for the last, say, hour, add it up, and then calculate from there. Even on the big pools I've learned never to trust the automated estimates. They're usually way off.

You should be making a lot closer to projected since last night, when I pointed 5 MH/s at the pool. I actually was getting close to the estimates since the pool's luck improved dramatically.

Edit: Also, the difficulty dropped to 2 overnight so the projected # has increased by a factor of 3+ since yesterday. That might be most of the discrepancy you are seeing.

Some stats:
I generated 1,030,000 worth of AKC blocks for the pool overnight 'til now, of which ~875,000 is credited to me and the balance went to the rest of you miners + Sunny. So everyone else's AKC income should be improving due to the increased pool hash rate

(Your expected coins per day) = (Block value) / (Block time in minutes) x 60 minutes x 24 x (Your hash power) / (Global hash power)

I believe AKC difficulty has been dropping. It should improve with the higher hash in the pool. The estimates can be way off, especially if you find more blocks in an hour it will through the estimates off while in the end it's just based on luck.

The pool had only found 18 blocks or so when I started mining last night. Now we're up to 44+ and growing

Any of you guys use mcxNOW? Site seems nice and quick. Wondering if its trustworthy?

Withdrawn probably 1.5 BTC from it from selling MAX. I don't know about trustworthy because I don't trust ANY exchange, but it has worked fine for me and as you mention is very quick.

Hey Sunny, how long do confirms take at your pool for AKC?

It's 120 confirms, same as the others. Which since the net hash rate is low right now takes roughly 120 blocks x 2 minutes/block = 4 hours.

Still an improvement from yesterday when it was almost quadruple that time.
