Excuse me, how am i leaving turds all over the forum? I'm not being offensive to anybody, the only person being a dick is you. There have been countless reviews by almost every site stating that there is an issue with crossfire, excluding the use of FCAT. You're the only person being a fanboy.

He's right, you are derailing the thread.
This is about mining, take your business to the appropriate thread.

I can agree that i am derailing the thread, and for that i will stop. But just wanted to point out the rest of his post that denies something that is true. But ill stop now.

Jesus christ you're ridiculous. It's also hilarious how everything in your post history is related to the same topic. HMM.

What! How come no one told me that months ago when I bought another couple 7970s? The extra AA, graphics settings, and resolution must have been a clever ruse by AMD to make me think CF was doing something.

for those of you in denial.

This is A BITCOIN MINING THREAD. You and your troll pal on the payroll should just find the exit.

perhap you should tell that to elfear. he is the first one who brought up "aa, graphical setting, and resolution" regarding the 7970. (post #4066)

unless he is on your payroll. :whiste:

if so - do not let the door hit you two on the way out.

The "crash" today, in a graph:

The demise of bitcoins has been slightly exaggerated.

Though, I had some really scary transaction lag, if that is the right word for it. Sent 24 bitcoins from one wallet to another, with a transaction fee, and the transaction didn't go through for about 3 hours. I was so paranoid that I somehow messed up the address and lost the bitcoins or something. Then they came through, and all was well.

In my paranoia, I figured out how you can re-send coins that have already been sent as long as there have been 0 confirmations so far. All kinds of crazy bitcoin witchcraft you can do with python-based wallet tools. Was slightly annoying to setup and use but I feel like I learned a few tricks today.

Who is in denial? Are there issues with CF? Yes as we've seen stated by multiple review sites now. Is CF "worthless" as bluequare07 stated? Absolutely not. My point was that when I got CF I was able to raise settings in the games I play (some very demanding ones too) so unless AMD has me under some sort of mind control, than CF does have some benefit.

It was well worth the $0 I have into it now after mining for months.

You found me out. Paid AMD shill just like everyone else on the forum. The conversation was going just fine until bluesquare07 decided to bring GPU politics into the thread.

You missed crossfire proven to be worthless and frame latency issues with AMD video cards that you happen to recommend.

Also just curious what your thoughts are on 660 SLI are since youre all about price/performance.

I've been using Guiminer, no issues for me here. I tried Cgminer but didn't like it much, and haven't had a reason to give it serious consideration.

Thanks for the info. I'll give Guiminer a shot.

I'm already making money with the 4 7970's I ordered today. Newegg dropped the price of the card by $10 a few hours after ordering. Got them to credit $40 to my CC.

^Wow that's pretty amazing...my 7950s were minimum $270 even after selling the games.

On a side note, these HIS 7950s are pretty good cards...run cool, quiet, and have full voltage control.

Or there is another explanation and my disappearance and negative light on AMD (I wasn't aware there was negative light on AMD since I was MIA - what did I miss?) is a coincidence.

I got a promotion which entailed moving to UAE. I moved there at the beginning of March which explains me being MIA on the forums. I haven't had much time to post until now due to relocation, etc. For 2 weeks in May I will be going to Uzbekistan and then I have a project in Kyrgyzstan, which means I'll be MIA again. Hopefully my disappearance on forums during that time will not be correlated with negative light on AMD. If it isn't obvious already, despite the conspiracy theorists, I do not work for AMD, although I did have drinks with ATIC and Global Foundries (GF) finance guys in Abu Dhabi 2 weeks ago. Good times since PC hardware is my hobby and meeting people in charge of corporate finance/strategic planning at GF is pretty awesome for a PC enthusiast.
Wow, cool! That's awesome! Hell of a good experience, right?!?

The "crash" today bottomed out at $110.. it dropped about $10 right before I was about to sell maybe 3 coins, which is what stopped me from selling, and thankfully it went back up to around $125 for now. Whew.. thank you coincidence!

Little help...

I don't have a dummy plug so I connected another monitor I had lying around but for some odd reason I can't see it in CCC to expand my desktop or even do anything.

So I can only get one GUIMiner going at full speed. Unless I picked the wrong option for the second? I clicked "New OpenCL Miner." Maybe I should try new GUMiner?

Got one miner going 1050/150 @ 1.163v
Got the other going 500/150 @ 1.163v

Wish I could figure out how to get the second miner going 1050 too. Man these things HEAT UP!

reality check.

like any investment. until you actually cash out. all you got is paper profit.

as volatile as bitcoins is. who know what it will liquidate for in the next minuite.

-----

if you already got the 7970 - might as well jump on the bandwagon and mine.

today is first time hearing about bitcoin. from cnn. only wish i knew about this from the gecko a few years ago when it was a few cent per coin and mining was less intensive.

would be cashing out all my coins today during this all time high. only a fool would continue to hang on to it - given the current peak.

(336)

I earned .53 bitcoins in the last 24 hours. My hash is 6000 and I have a new hd7790 online at 300 hash. So a factor of 20 to 1 total hash vs hd7790 hash.

So that would be .0265 coins or $3.10 usd if you divide .53 divided by 20.

The card burns 80 watts maxed

80 watts x 24 hours = about 2 K- watts or my price is 15 cents a k watt.

30 cents power in a day..

So after 1 day I earned back $2.80.

I paid 146 for this card and I get a 10 dollar rebate so that is 136. I will get a game.

bioshock infinite sell for 25 so that is 111 .

Minus my 1 day earnings 108.20 is my cost for this card. Will update it for a week. if you have headroom on your pc this card does not run that hot.

I keep hearing about dummy plugs, but I have never had to use them on any of my 6950/7950 setups. I use Afterburner to set the clocks and mine away on all my cards. I don't have any XFire connectors if that makes a difference.

You probably don't even need that high a voltage to get to 1050. I was running a 7950 at 1100MHz @ 1.045v, now I run it at 925MHz @ 0.975v.

Okay, can't for the life figure out what happened...but...this is what I got going right now:

2xGUIMiner windows open
Both Radeon 7970's doing:
1100 Core
900 Mem (can't figure out how to get it back to idle)
1.125v
+20% Powertune
>585Mhash each.
Temps
Card1 - Sapphire DualX - 75C (woof this makes me a tad nervous)
Card2 - Sapphire Ref w/Accelero - 65C

First coin I mint if prices stay high, I'm getting another Accelero!

Do those numbers sound good or can I lower temps/volts/somewhere else?

Yeah I was experimenting. Some how I got the second card to be noticed by the miner and can get the clocks up, but now they are both boosting their Mem clocks as if I were gaming.

I used AB to for all my clocks, but 900mhz is the lowest I can get the mems with it so I left it there.
