Can you post your conf for your 290's?, what OS?

Yeah - its taking the egg like 3 days just to get an order shipped right now. Not sure if just due to BF/CM sales or something particular to the Radeon orders.

Haha I know what you mean. Try these for starters, they get me about 810-820 kh/s on a 290.

Banks banning Bitcoin has no impact (besides sparking fear sell-off, which will recover once people's greed overtake their fear!) because the nature of cryptocoins are to circumvent banking institutions and governance.

As long as individuals & businesses accept bitcoins, it will have a value. The more that accept it, the higher its potential value. Everyday, more and more accept bitcoins. It explains the rise.

It would take a while for that expensive thing to pay off since it only gets about 20kH/s... you would be much better off mining on your CPU instead.

Since all the other top cards are out of stock, and the only reasonable card still available is the 7870, does it make sense to purchase one today? Or will the soon-to-be difficulty increase negate any potential profit? Looks like you can snag one for about $150.

Also, can I mix different GPU models on the same MOBO? Like if I only have a 7950, can I add a 7870 to the mix?

At the current price levels and card varieties of the 7870 on newegg, I think there are better options if you wait a bit longer. You would be better off camping the refresh page for a 280x or a 290.

Yes, you can mix different models as long as you do not crossfire them, and you do not need to crossfire themfor mining.

Thanks, will test them out tonight. I have it set for the 7950 Low Intensity defaults right now to monitor the VRM temps.

I don't like using the defaults at all. In fact, the only paramater I have in my bat file is intensity, I leave the rest up to cgminer since it auto adjusts pretty well over time.
