Question: is it wise to grab my litecoins (only have two) and turn them into dogtags now?

Is it wise? Who knows.. but i converted all my coins I've mined recently into Doge. Much profit amaze!

At the ratio of 0.0000003 to BTC its a damn bargain, if I had anymore BTC in CoinedUp, I would buy Doge ASAP.

I've added these lines in my cudaminer.bat and hashrate has jumped from 100kH/s to 250kH/s on my GTX 460

-H 1 -d 0 -i 1 -l S8x4 -C 1 -m 1

EDIT: but I get a lot of invalids.

Man, I better stick with just mining. I am totally stupid when it comes to these things. I can't even decipher a graph when I look at it.
I bet if I traded anything I'd lose everything

Since my last post, the ratio went up to 0.00000037 or ~20%. If I had BTC to convert and buy it at the earlier price and now sold it at the current price, 20% gain like that, in an instant.

Hmm. But there's no guarantee you will be able to sell those dogs later on. Or do I get it completely wrong?

There's an element of risk involved, but a bit earlier it went down to as low as 0.0000002, if you bought a lot then (I would have), and sold now, you would nearly double up on profits.

No risk, no reward. Or rather, mining is next to no risk for low rewards.

Guess I will stick to mining. My head is already exploding. I am economically hopeless
Btw, am I right to understand the more people mining in a pool, the higher the gains?

Might try this with my recently mined LTC (all 5.x of it... haha)
Is CoinedUp still the only site where you can trade Doges?

Aha. I thought the higher total hashrate in a pool, the faster the rate of finding new blocks, and thus the more profit.

Is it only coinedup where I can turn dogs into something, or has it appeared elsewhere?
Maybe when I mine a bit more, I could make some profit trading them into litecoins, if those keep going down.

Also, where can I see some reasonably simple graphs and numbers about current values of btc/ltc/doge?

I highly do not recommend you to start trading IF you are struggling to identify ratios and value of the aforementioned coins, you run the risk of losing a lot.

Yeah I think so. My destiny lies in 8 hours a day in a job
But hell I hoped I could at least make some pocket money for an upgrade to my PC on these altcoins

I'm pretty sure doge will fly soon, for now it's kind of a rollercoaster cause prices are manipulated by big traders. It's really gaining popularity and viral marketing is on. Of couse, it is just my feeling, a gamble but hey nothing to lose anyway, doge coins are so cheap right now. Even buying it for 200 dollars can give a huge multiplier later. Why not trying.

Have faith, nice logo btw : https://images.weserv.nl/?url=www.cryptoboss.com/doge_coing1.jpg&fnr

Doge will fly once a big exchange officially support it. If you hear any announcement, buy asap or you will miss the spike.

Dang, some dude bought up all the Doge when it was down to around 0.00000025 earlier and now threw up a massive sell order of 36 BTC worth, making a MASSIVE profit. Well played sir, whoever it was.

Heh... You're still pushing this coin pretty hard. How much of it do you have to unload?

Judging from the buy/sell manipulation going on in CoinedUp it would require having another exchange to really drive up the price. Most of the action in the past 48 hours has been to depress the price.

There is one major factor it has going for it that BTC/LTC don't: it's a coin that doesn't take itself too seriously

Doge doesn't need to be manipulated in order to go down. Everybody knows it will go down as it is not a serious coin and will never be taken seriously, and some people are cashing out while it's still worth something.

IMO, for bitcoin to gain long term credibility as an e-commerce currency, it has to be backed by banks and governments. So far that is proving to not be the case; as many banks (including Chase) are working on their own e-currency. Now hopefully these banks can work towards a single standard in terms of an e-currency as opposed to 20 different currencies that nobody can agree on.

So far banks and governments seem to be either indifferent (EU) or outright hostile to bitcoins and its variants. Having backing by banks and governments is pretty critical for longevity, though, IMO.

I don't suppose using middlecoin is a good idea, considering coins change value so much and so often?

Yep... it's seems to be the first (or second) popular "Memecoin". Super profitable one day, and gone the next. It's too bad I didn't get in on that early when you could self mine a million coins overnight

ChinaCoin was a good "pump and dump" coin as well. That one actually made it onto BTC-E before it tanked.

I kinda miss the days when BBQCoin was popular. I think that was the first "fun" coin.
