The nice thing is that this one has an attention-whore celebrity lawsuit attached to it. Doges are fun for the Reddit/4chan crowd, but there's hardly a grandma in the country who hasn't heard of Kanye West. And tomorrow they're going to hear about Coinye West. Nothing like a little free publicity to generate interest.

this smacks of a pump and dump/premining scheme

Having trouble syncing Coinye's wallet. Says 0 active connections to the network. Anyone else have success?

I hope I don't lose the 100k that I sent from the pool to myself...

I wouldn't think the network would be available since it's not set to release until the 11th? Or was that changed?

Ahaha. I love the changes they made ...essentially mocking him for trying to stop something that is unstoppable. /win

Yup, I'm getting more lols from coinye than even doge. It would be hilarious if Kanye started a personal vendetta against Coinye

When are we going to see KimKoin or KardashianKoin?

So that means if someone pays me in Bitcoins and it gets reversed due to a soft fork I am SOL?

The coins will be returned to the sender. So you will need to ask for them to be resent, although the official wallet client will auto resend any outgoing transaction that gets rolled back.

Very short forks occur naturally. So you need to wait until the block chain with your transaction has grown to a "comfortable" length before sending your goods. The current recommendation is that you wait for 6 confirmation blocks (about 1 hour) for most transactions. However for very large transactions you may wish to wait longer, or for small transactions for less.

Fairly interesting reading regarding performance of 79xx/280x cards related to memory used: https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=12369.0

Yeah I figured it was due to latency after messing around with vram OC, lots of weird up and down in performance when the timing is off, even with increased bandwidth.

This may explain why cuda miner on 780s and up dont care about vram bandwidth so even downclock vram runs the same speed, its most likely due to a set latency in the vbios.

My R290 with hynix scale like mad with faster vram OC but the R290 with elpida runs slower when its vram is OC or underclock away from default, sometimes 100 kH/s slower, which suggest it does not have a fast timing profile for other vram speeds.

So not only does elpida vram OC like shiat, its got shiat timings too. Really is an awful surprise for miners to get a card with this crap vram..

LOL some of these pool owners....

Coinye is hot right now. And we are building fast to be the best and largest pool on the Internet.
I build a cluster to scale to the moon and all you can give Coinye is 400 600 800Mh/s?? Comon guys.. I thought you had HASH POWER! SHOW ME THE HASH!
The lottocoin pool is kicking your butts - they have 1.2G/s. Show them Coinye can do better! *challenge accepted*

Nice find. That is very interesting and explains why at same settings, I-13 TC-8192 1000/1500 some folks were getting much different hash rates.

Would be best to know whatmanufactures are using the hynix AFR modules. The shaders*coreclock in ghz*.34 was also a very interesting find. That matches what I've been reading about performance of the cards and the sweet spots.

XFX cards are the ones I hear the worst things about, probably the one to avoid if you want to have best chance of avoiding the hash rate dump.

you lose more than you gain, unless you own 100% of coin in which your loss is equal to your gain.
Destroying currency in such a way is not a plausible attack, the same way that nobody worries about people buying gold only to throw it down an active volcano.

I don't know... There was that James Bond movie where the villain planned to irradiate United States Fort Knox gold store to pump and dump his own gold stash... :awe:

This could be part of my problem with the 7870LE from Power color. It comes with stock memory of 1500mhz but I bet the latency is super high. It runs best with my memory set to the lowest possible amount of 750 lol.

This one is going to be pumped and dumped, ridden hard, then pumped, then likely dumped, all the while not really contributing anything to anyone. It certainly won't be rare...everyone's gonna get a piece of that action!! And maybe someone will post a video of them getting nasty with those coins.

Yes, which is why it's awesome. Best of luck to all of us to time our mining and dumping in such a way as to maximize our profits. I've got roughly 17k Coinye now, and still hashing away at ~250k. Hopefully somebody will pay me something of value for them.

So I've been mining the wrong coins...? Ugh all my coins are literally worthless after factoring in electricity costs. I didn't want to mine Coinye because it was full of sketch before the launch but I guess it's another mistake I made. Really feel like I should get off out of this game and go back to Folding@Home..

I was going to mine this, but after following it for the past week I've decided not to. It's turned into the stupidest thing I've ever seen released in the crypto-market. First, the coin came off a giant joke (no problem, so was DOGE). Then the devs started coming off as real douche bags. The launch was messed up, and they premined a huge amount of coins. And seeing some of their chat logs made me think... lowly of them. I'm not supporting any dev that in my eyes is taking advantage of others. And finally, the cease and desist from Mr. West's lawyers.

I'll pass.

Bitcoin was premined. Litecoin too I think.
