Can you fill out that template with your settings? We can compare if there are other optimizations possible.
There are huge memory holes. My 290x has them around 1500. Go 1 MHz over and it drops the hashrate dramatically. As you go lower near 1250 you should be at 1250. At 1625 (AB Max) it was on the rise again but I believe it had to go to or near to 1750 to hit the optimum values again.
I wonder why the 7970 idle alongside it has such a big effect. How far apart are they? Is the 7970 blocking the airflow? I'm curious about this one if it's similar with my crossfire. I'm getting risers this week so I'll probably put a 4 card configuration with two outside and I'm thinking I'll put one custom card with one reference inside the box, and 1 of each outside of it hanging somehow.
With both cards mining, the 290x = 94C
😵 and the 7970 = 72C. Can the 290x be placed at the bottom and still be used as the primary card in gaming?
Today I'll be mining using these settings, don't want to freeze my machine remotely from work.
Card :
MSI Gaming 290x, Hynix memory
Core: 860
Memory: 1250
Core voltage: no adjustment
Power tune: +50
Fan speed: auto (55%)
Intensity: 19
-w (?): 256
Thread-concurrency: 40200
Work Unit: ?
Hash rate: 670 kHash/s
I've seen the card as high as 900 khash using different settings, but I don't *think* it was able to mine very long before crashing.
I seem to have had rotten luck with cards lately, the 7970 6GB can only do 550khash max, now this 290x...
