Hey guys. Appreciate some insight:
- Motherboard: MSI 970 (2 x 16 PCI-E, 2 x 1 PCI-E)
- CPU: AMD Samperon 145
- RAM: Crucial 4GB DDR3
- PSU: EVGA 750w (80+ Gold Certification, ave 89% efficiency)
- CASE: Open air plastic milk crate
He is asking $1500. It looks like the cards go for $350 each on ebay.
NO way. I think $700 is justified for the two video cards, but how does he get to $1500?
Look at the selective list of items I quoted above after deleting the video cards and operating system. NO way is a motherboard+RAM+CPU+PSU worth $800! Plus they are AMD motherboard and CPU, making them very little value.
Maybe those parts would be oh around $125? So that leaves another $675 to account for. Hmm, I guess he has a solid gold milk crate encrusted with diamonds for heat dissipation?
Do not pay someone an extra $675 to assemble some low-end computer parts into a milk crate.
Instead, just buy two video cards and put them in your computer. Sell your 6950 if you need to make room; you can still get good money for the 6950 because it can mine. Otherwise, maybe you can just get some "risers" and add as many video cards as your current computer supports.
