If you guys are right about it being like COD....then WOW. EA is a bunch of idiots.

First they do this with MOH, making BC2 into COD maps/arcadish/no recoil shooting....and now follow with Crysis2.

EA - we understand that Activision made MILLIONS on COD:MW2....but that doesn't mean you should copy it or that it's "Great".

Toyota Camry is one of the best "all time" selling Family Sedans.....it doesn't mean that it's great.

I really hope you guys are wrong, I guess I will find out tonight.

I just hope it doesn't take me an hour to deal with EA account BS...cause Crysis Warhead drove me F'in nuts.

Well a multiplayer only demo is pretty useless to me, especially if there is auto-aim. I will wait for the full version to pass judgment on the campaign.

I doubt graphics will improve at all. When I watched few gameplay videos on You tube it just looked disappointing.

I have a feeling what people are saying is correct, step backwards in graphics.

I just started the download on Steam. If I'm not mistaken, the multiplayer portion of Crysis 1 didn't look as good as the single player portion did. I hope I enjoy this game, I was a huge fan of the first.

Anyone know what ports you have to forward? I cant find the info on their site, because its soooooooooooo god damned slow it times out. Google search shows almost nothing in regards to it and lots of the fake sites with the exact search in the title of the page.

Glad I waited for the game release/review before taking such a step. Cause it really sounds like a disappointment/not worthy of an upgrade.

I downloaded it and am completely disappointed. I was getting FPS in the 40s with two overclocked GTX470s and my user input felt excessively slugish even with vsync off.

Super consolized garbage like the only graphics settings we can configure are resolution, windowed/fullscreen, vsync, and the settings which we get to choose from "Gamer", "Advanced", and "Hardcore" - they all ran like crap unless you have to completely restart your game for the change to fully happen.

Battlefield 3 should take a huge dump all over this garbage.

The auto-aim feature is not too pleasing to see there.

Not only that, but the damage seems all over the boards, sometimes you have to unload a whole clip to drop someone, other times a couple shots and they keel over.

Overall it feels like players are too resilient in multiplayer. The best strategy seems to be to stealth around with a friend and ambush people.

Also, comparing these maps to the original multiplayer maps, well, what needs to be said there, right ? :thumbsdown:

Hope there are more game modes than DEATHMATCH!!! too :/

It's a Gamespy account. I went to create an account but my email was already in use so I dug around for my old Gamespy account and that worked. Perhaps there was something with the server at the time.

I'm pretty pumped for this game but I was hoping it was a SP demo. I played very little of Crysis MP and it wasn't great but I didn't give it a chance really as I bought the games for SP. Anyway...

Well, I just played one not even full round. First off it seems pretty well done. Graphics are good and it ran well for me at 1680x1050 on 'gamer' (AMD X2 5400+, 2GB ram, ATI 4870 512mb, WinXP). The controls didn't feel that great to me but hard to describe. Not sure really as the overall feel of the control and weapons of Crysis was top notch for me. Could be just getting used to though.

I do like the CoD system with the classes and weapon unlocks and perks, but damn did they really need to do everything with the MP just like Cod? I mean sheesh the menu is like a MW2 Barracks menu, there are even emblems and stuff!

I did have fun for that one round and got to level 2. Need to look into the unlocks more and see if it's a big advantage or not. Will definitely be playing it when I get back later tonight.

So questions: there are three nanosuit modes: armor, power, stealth? Is power the default? What is it even for? Both armor and stealth continually drain power, which makes sense for MP. I used armor sometimes in fights and sometimes not didn't seem to make a huge difference.

Oh yeah, they totally need to remove the aim assist. Forget server allowing it or not, just take it off the menu and remove it from the game. Why the hell would it be an option? It should either be on or off, and on PC I say definitely off.

True enough it must related to the armor mode. I'm not fond of the lack of consistency with it. Also would have preferred to have a normal 'shift' run and a speed mode with even more speed.

Hahaha. This game is shaping up to be such a huge mess. Gotta love how they expect that turning everything into COD is somehow going to bring in sales like Black Ops.

Also everyone who was saying the leaked build didn't represent what the full game would look like is totally wrong. Both are limited to DX9 which means Crytek hasn't even developed a DX11 renderer yet.

Just spent an hour playing. Here is my initial review:

Tons of Browser issues:
No North American servers
Filters not working right
If server lists open slots....still full (great thx)
9/10 servers full (even if listed as slots open)
Did I say no North American servers? <<<for real? I get about 3, and then cant get in, full. Well perhaps don't give me Filter for "not listing full servers?"

I wont get into disabling my Gampad so that it doesn't vibrate on my desk or fact that there is Auto Aim....

So into the game...
No clue what Gamer, Advanced or Hardcore is. None of them made a real difference (in frame rate or graphics). I realise Gamer is lowest, Advanced is med and Hardcore is High but WHY do they have to make it so difficult? Is this Starbucks of gaming with these names? Also why isn't there Graphics settings?

Vsync on/off didn't have much effect on graphics of framerates as well.

Graphics are poor (by crysis standards), on par with MW2 or something. Certainly no Crysis topper or "new standard in graphics". Just average.

Blur is KILLING me right now, after about 5 min I got a headache. My eyes are actually hurting me right now. This Blur is just horrible.

You know, I was thinking. MOH was a such a HUGE let down. Just trying to figure out if Crysis 2 tops that now.

Map design is poor. It's just all over the place. Bunch of corners/nukes to hide in......levels/hallways everywhere. Just didn't feel like they took their time designing the maps? They are also small....just not a fan of neither of them.

Crashsite = get to the site to find bunch of invisible dudes hiding around corners.

PS. Surprisingly enough I had no problems creating a user. Of course it wouldn't let me use my current EA/Gamespy account so I just created new one, worked fine.

Overall, I'm very disappointed. My biggest complaint is by far the blur...just horrible on my eyes. Headache material.

Yeah everything is blurred. It's like they tried to cover up how bad everything looks by blurring it.

There are console games that look better than this. Even Killzone 3 and Bad Company 2 look better than this travesty.

This game imitates CoD at every turn but it might be BETTER than CoD which is the key. It's okay to rip on something if you make a better product.

Regarding Armor mode, I think it takes about a second to actually switch suit modes so if you're trying to switch on the fly while you're getting shot, don't expect it to help much...etc. I haven't really been surprised by how fast I died while in Armor mode except for a couple times. It has happened, just not often.

As for auto-aim, I believe it's actually "aim assist" which is a little different. Auto-aim has the magnetizing effect of moving your cursor onto a target. It sucks big time and has no place in gaming, even on consoles! Aim Assist is a little different, it merely slows your cursor as you target over someone. This helps you aim, obviously, and has the same effect of switching your mouse dpi to a lower number "on the fly" as your recticle hovers over an enemy.

I don't like either of them and a mouse makes both unnecessary, but aim assist I can at least live with being in the game and I THINK that's what Crytek has implemented here. If in fact it's the "magnetism" effect then I'll be extremely disappointed but I played a couple rounds with it on and off and didn't notice anything like that.

Bottom line is the game seems aimed at the CoD crowd except the nanosuit genuinely adds depth to the gameplay that CoD can't touch. The maps and mobility afforded to you are just awesome, there's a LOT to like here it's just a matter of - will it work? We'll need the full version to know...

On the flip side, if you don't like competitve multi-player games then you'll still hate this one as much as anything. Oh, and I agree about the blur being overdone, after about an hour my eyes were killing me and changing the graphics settings seems to have little effect on anything - are these modes (hardcore/gamer/advanced) even working?
