CS:Source Patch - New Player Models

Has anyone played since they updated the player models?

I'm really gutted. I hate them. The new terrorist one looks like Rambo. And the French special forces guy is pointless - looks like a cop in riot gear. They changed the default terrorist ones too.

I know this sounds trivial, but I think its ruined the realism and the balance. I've been trying to find out if its possible to disable the new models, either in the console or by overwritting the new models with old ones.

The new one looks like the old guerilla warefare model. The other guy is the GIGN. It's good to have a selection and variety and there's always custom skins. And also, what realism? What balance? The models arent for anything else besides preference.

:camera:'s? I have a feeling that the "rambo" one is simply the Guerilla Warfare model from the original CS.

By realism I mean the way the models appear. The default models covered the faces with the ski-masks and helmets, which looks cool. By adding a model (the guerilla) with a face texture, I think they've made the game look visually weaker. Its just a featureless texture.

I dunno if that made sense.

Lol, you guys DO realize that these are the EXACT SAME models that's been in CS for over 7 years, right?

Here are all four CTs to eventually be remade:

Ya... I think most people know that these new models are old remakes. I'm assuming the OP never played the original counter strike, but if so... he/she should be ashamed for not noticing where the 'new' models came from.

I didn't know that actually. Never played orginal CS.

So why has it taken Valve so long to add two 'new' skins if they are just remakes? Rubbish.

I miss not having the original characters in CS:S. I liked playing the green Terrorist with the cool shades. Made me feel like a pimp when I played.

I hated the ski outfit skin though..

They're busy working on tech demos to show off their source engine (Lost Coast), 64-bit versions of HL2 and their Steam client, HL2: Aftermath Expansion... the list goes on and on...

Good news for you... the designer just confirmed that Leet )green shirt and shades) will be released instead of the Arabic replacement seen in CS:CZ.

I'm glad to see all the old models coming back, I was getting sick of the lack of variety. The green shirted T with dual elites ftw.
