CUSL Memory Issues

Im running a ASUS CUSL2-C mainboard with a 1GHz P3 CPU blah blah... and whenever I
install more than ONE 128MB memory module, I get random crashes within both
Win2k and W98se. With just 128MB everything runs like a dream, but 256MB and
384MB of any comination in any slot gives me problems. Separately the modules runs
like a dream using Quake3 and other memory hungry programs.

The memory are all 133MHz CL3 - but they all are of different brands however.
Could there be some kind of compatability issue between the different modules? I have never experienced that before...

This very same problem also occurs on a friends MB: An ASUS CUSL2 (with onboard video.)

The CUSL2/CUSL2-C is known for not co-operating very well with generic RAM. What BIOS version do you have? Perhaps you should upgrade to the latest versions, either 1006A Final or 1008 Beta 001.

You should also go into the BIOS and set SDRAM Data Driving Mode to Strong under Advanced Options.

Im running 1006A. I tried it with both the strong and normal driving mode - same results.

So what is the best PC133 memory out there at the moment?

I'm running 3 sticks of Muskin Rev 3 memory in my CUSL2-C at 140 Mhz....stable under win2k. I can do the same with my Crucial, but only at 2,3,3 7-9 vice the 2,2,2 5-7 of the Mushkin.

i also have 3 sticks mushkin pc133 rev1.5, 512mb, 1x256 + 2x128, 2-2-2, 7/9T .. no probs. bios 1006 final, p3-700 @938
