Well...the motherboard I'm working with is mostly ATX compliant, but it has a pretty odd cutout for the ATX I/O panel. So I'm looking to find a cutout, and it looks like I'll need a custom cutout job done.
Why didn't the mobo come with an ATX I/O shield? Well, it did--it also came with a case, though, and the I/O shield seems to be tailored specifically to the case. It wouldn't fit in a different case without modification.
Why don't I just keep using the case I've got? Well, the case is pretty shoddy. It doesn't fit together as seamlessly as a case should, it's kind of tight on space, and the drive cage arrangement is even odder than the I/O shield cutout.
(Don't laugh, I got the case, mobo, CPU, RAM, and other hardware as a very sweet package deal. So meh. )
For reference, see page 40 of this document. If anyone knows where to get an I/O shield cutout like this, or where to get custom cutouts at a reasonable price, I'd be quite happy.
