Custom PCBs

im looking for a place that sells copper plated silicon boards for the use of making custom PCBs. Basically, its just like any PCB found in your computer but completely made out of copper and you remove most of it to be left with just the traces and lilttle copper "wires". EVERY site ive visited on making PCBs never actually link to a site that sells them. Its like they assume you already have it! Ive looked and looked to no avail at a site that sells the copper plated boards. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well heres an idea i dont know if it will help much but my dad works for mantinace and used to work as a cuircuit board driller. well the place he works at makes and plates curcuit boards. now i dont know if this will be easy but if you live near any curcuit board companys maybe you can ask them to hook you up or make them for you. like i said i dont know if this will help but its just an idea.

Radio shack usually has some circuit board kits and chemicals. Places like Newark, DigiKey and Jameco are online and should have stuff too. Also check places like allelectronics and BGMicro for odd lots. Google on PCB supplies for more.

copper plated silicon boards

hi,
actually it's usually copper plated fr4 (or g10) which is a type of fire resistent fiberglass. in any case, you can get that as stock in any number of places as you can imagine.
do a google search on "copper plated fr4"
the first place listed is this

which sells it and has pricelists. there are many other places indicated in the search.

When you have designed your board - e-mail the files to Tsvetan at www.olimex.com/pcb

Olimex is really fast, really really cheap and really helpful too. Basically it was cheaper to have them do my PCBs than to buy toxic and corrosive chemicals and blank boards. Not to mention the fact that the professional boards were all drilled, labeled and coated with solder resist.
