I really dont understand the point in a 1 yr pre order.
I mean do we get betas?
What is the advantage of getting the pre order.

I know cd project isnt EA or Ubisoft, so the game we get will be what is promised, but the length in the preorder is a bit too long.

I will probably end up buying the preorder several weeks to a month before launch, but i dont think i will purchase it right now.

you're right, but the way I see it, they are just capitalizing on the cheddar that the rubes of the gaming world have made possible. It's stupid, if you pay. Why not make the offer? The model is well established.

Is it bad that I have absolutely no idea what this game is even about, have watched no trailers or screenshots, have no clue if it's FPS or third person action, but I'm still incredibly excited for this game only because it's being made by CDPR? I still stay clear of reviews and trailers just to avoid jumping on the hype train only to be massively let down by the final product, but The Witcher 3 was a masterpiece and I can only expect good things from Cyberpunk.

nope. I've ignored as much as I possibly can about the gameplay and everything. the 70 minute whatever playthrough from last year...i watched the first 5 minutes, I guess. It is an FPS--at least for the vast majority of the game, but that's all I know. You have skills and stuff. Big surprise.

Here's the thing: I want to go into this game like it was included in my $1500 Packard Bell Pentium 50mhz box from Best Buy (4MB RAM!), c. 1994 (with free Acer printer!), have no idea that it was there to begin with, load it up, and be like....WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED TO MY MONTH?

Unless there are some premiums or unless you are a fanboy trying to support the developer, there isn't much point to it. It's not like there are limited copies of the game available for purchase. At least when we bought boxes of software in brick & mortar stores, that was sort of an issue . . . some of the time. I remember having to hunt thoroughly to find a store locally that still had a copy of Daggerfall for me to buy. In 1996.

I also dont know much about it only saw a little of it so not to ruin my experience of playing when i get the game. I am guessing it is like Deus Ex game and Bladerunner movie blended together.

Just in case the run out of bytes before you can get your copy!

There is really no reason to buy any game more than a day beforehand, and for single player games like this one it makes no sense to buy it before the non-biased reviews come out after launch. Sure CDPR has been really good, but any company can fail.

Bummer. Was looking forward to it so much in April. Well this gives more time for me to get a new gpu by then. I'm ok with them delaying it because I know it will be quality.

Yea, better to delay and get it right than rush it out and do an EA. This helps alleviate backlog pressure for some too.

Yup. I had just come to the decision I wasn't going to get it in April anyway so I could wait for a new GPU gen (and hopefully Ryzen 4; and let bugs get patched in the meantime).

I'm hoping the next Ti series will be out by then. I skipped the 20 series all together as my 1080ti is still going strong. I know I'll want to run cyperpunk at the highest I can go to get the most enjoyment out of it.

I'm good with this. Pushing it back simply means more time to knock out my backlog (and get Borderlands 3 in April). I wasn't planning on getting it until around September or later in the year, so now I'll have an entire year to play BL3 or other games and just grab Cyberpunk in 2021. Works for me.

Kind of sucks, 2020 was the target date because that was the year that original Cyberpunk was set.

I'm not following, it's still releasing in 2020 just 5 months later. Does it actually take place in April 2020? Well at least I still have last of us 2 to look forward to.

Oh, I thought it had been delayed until 2021. My mistake.

Well. Fuck.

It's better this way, and I know it very well. But my emotions right now aren't compatible with logic.

boooo! I mean...OK I totally assumed this would happen, and glad they are concerned about making quality instead of rushing crap.

I was actually looking at Cyberpunk stuff last night, wondering if April was too far away, lol.

Saw this thread bumped, was a little excited, but also terrified that the news was "Epic Exclusive for 6 months!" because I have also been expecting that announcement any moment now (not that this makes sense for CDPR, but it could happen...) Well, if it's GoG exclusive, I'm fine with that.

More time for me to finish Witcher III... which probably still won't happen by the time 2077 comes out.

Don't care what anyone says combat in the game is awful. Shame because basically everything else is fantastic.

I need to reinstall Witcher 3 and hope my save games are still around somewhere. I know I bought the expansion and game on gog and put my saves on another hard drive when I formatted a long time ago.

The combat was tough and hard to get used to. Almost felt like I should have used a controller.

W3 combat is pretty bad, but I agree that it's better with a gamepad. I did KB/M on first playthrough, but XBOX gamepad on 2nd and...current one.

The combat is fun at first--if you compare it to W1 and W2, it is a revelation! (because those were god-awful)...but it gets very repetitive, very fast. at least it's more fluid, but you end up just dodge stab, dodge dodge, stab stab, roll stab etc. Aard, maybe. The bombs are rarely useful (only in some cases where they are kinda necessary, like taking down Golems much faster). ...big problem is that the game gets really easy early on. Deathmarch is too easy.

I'm having the opposite thought, playing with a Xbox One S controller. Half the time the targeting doesn't toggle and I'm just getting hit from behind. There also isn't any indication of what attacks can't be parried or blocked, at least from what i can tell. The quick dodge doesn't seem to want to work at times either... but w/e.

Needless to say I have no problem with tough combat, so long it works well. Looking forward to seeing what they do in Cyberpunk

Also, hoping for Easter eggs

Sounds like an issue with your controller. I've been using a wired 360 controller since I bought the game in 2016 and I've never had a single issue with what you're describing. Also, they do tell you in tutorials that strong attacks and most large monster attacks cannot be parried.
