Remember what I said in my first post on this subject --- this WAS an emotional thead!

It was quite entertaining guys --- techies are easily provoked (something to do with clashing of the minds ) I knew any post about Cyberwings was going to snowball a reaction

One thing I want to add (and maybe it will be the FINAL thing for this thread - hopefully), is please don't judge members by the raw number of posts on Anantech. Just because SOME (I, for example) only have a handful of posts doesn't make what I have to say less important. It was 1983 when I programmed my first bulletin board system with my 8 bit Atari running 300 baud, way pre-Internet days.

However, flame away to all that have AOL accounts, now they're IDIOTS! ...

Cheers!

Cyberwings, does the fun ever start?

This is funny- within minutes of filing a paypal grievance I get the following email from them. Despite my weeks of trying to resolve this whole debacle and them never returning my emails I'm blessed with this:

XXXX has reversed his payment for an AYW3 lifetime service through PayPal, please be sure his accounts are removed from our servers. Original order was on June 3rd, 2002, so please check older servers as well.

XXXX, please provide us with the IP of the server that you were on.

Shawn J. White
CEO, Cyberwings.com

-------------------------------------------

And my, as yet unreplied to follow up:

Hello,

I have requested a reversal of payment via paypal because you haven't replied to my emails over the past few weeks. I paid for two AYW 3 accounts:

Paypal 49N2508XXX $150 (AYW3 3x space 3x bwidth.)
Paypal 2DK1531XXX $50 (Standard AYW3.)

Apparently had one set up, received no information as to which account that was and never got word on the other one. You then agreed to refund the missing payment, subsequently ignoring my repeated attempts to resolve this.

I haven't used your account, have no idea what IP I was, and have found the whole experience fairly negative. Apparently the only thing that elicits a response is a paypal reversal request, as my previous emails to you:

To: 'swhite@cyberwings.com'

Never resolved anything, despite your statements that you would refund my money. You failed to deliver your products to me, and I'm tired of running in circles.

------------------------------

and now my two original accounts that were fully paid up are apparently MIA. Good thing I didn't have anything important on them. My reply:

Interesting. Now you've successfully deleted two other, fully paid accounts that had nothing to do with these transactions at all.

Cost of an imaginary AYW3 plan: $150
Cost of a real, but deleted one: $50
Cost for two regular, now deleted ones: $6
Cost of the entire experience: priceless.

Cyberwings, the official host of my imaginary but costly web accounts.

Give me my $206 back so I can pretend this never happened, please.

same here. looks like one of us will have to track the CEO down to bermuda. i hear he's traveling with Martha Stewart and the Worldcom CEO, so it should be too hard to spot him

last time CW was down, it was for like 15 minutes, but it has been well over 15 minutes...

Mine was down a few minutes a couple days ago.
But,
One of our favorite online venders, Newegg, has also been down several times yesterday.
Perhaps they are now hosted at CW?
Nah, just another example that you can spend $1000's a month on hosting, and still go down often.

Why get the cheap accounts? Buy the $150 lifetime reseller account or even yet $1750 for a dedicated server. Then you can be your own CW and make money for a life time.

I'm starting to realize why they're so damn cheap

From what I can tell - hanging around in their online chat (which also provides better service than using their help desk at this point) is that there's a problem with the "upstream provider" -- specifically with the cable going into their datacenter.

They've been popping up and down for the last 12 hours.

Non CW techies in the chat are confirming this "upsteam provider problem" by running various pings and traces.

I believe that was the first graphical web browser. Text ones had been around prior to that.

-- But Bathand statement holds true, Cyberwings has the best deal in webhosting in 15 years..... Heck, it's the best deal in webhosting since the creation of the universe!!!!
