Ole school like a mutha

I remember hearing my first psy trance stuff back in late 94 - ummmm, Hallucinogen, Astral Projection, Cosmosis

CHARLY! How about WIND IT UP or FIRE!

Prodigy sucks now.
They used to kick ass.

I miss Moby's older stuff... by far "everything is wrong" kicked the most ass but i miss like novia and other good songs of his such as move.
Too commercialized now. :Q

I like Stardust-Music Sounds Better With You...excellent song, and I'm a huge fan of UNKLE-Psyence Fiction album..not sure if this counts as "techno" im not really up to date on my electronic based genres.

<< Bought a Daftpunk CD last night, Discovery. Its preety good. Tracks which stand out are Aerodynamics and Nightvision. Any comments or more songs?

Got any suggestions for good Techno music?
>>

its a good start, until you realized there are other and much better electronic music, specifically like other popular underground genres, Trance.

Daftpunk is just, as most trance fanatics term it, [cheesy] retro-disco house. Personally, I've listened to "one more time", it's good listening and I don't mind it. If you want to venture past mainstream, you can try the commercial trance like BT, Darude, System F or Ferry Corsten. Then if you want to digger a little deeper into underground flavors, you can check the classics of Epic and Uplifting Trance that were very popular a few years ago. If you want to know what those sound like, do a search for:

System F vs. Armin Van Buuren - Exhale (Massive ....... remix)
Chicane - Halycon (Airscape remix)
Moogwai - Viola (Armin Van Buuren remix)
Dj Johan Gielen (sp) - Beauty of Silence (extended remix)

As for other mainstream eurotechno, I don't have any recommendations cuz it doesn't appeal to me, it's unevolved sound and too teeny bopping mainstream for me. I like the hard and the underground.

Peace

yep, what did you expect? BT wants broad broad public appeal, thats where the money is. oh well, no lost.

[Buddhist]
Try finding these:

Ayumi Hamasaki - Far away (RANK 1 remix) [japanese song remixed, quite beautiful, her voice blends very well with the music]
Ayumi_hamasaki_-_whatever (ferry_'system_f'_corsten_dub_mix) [another nice one remixed by ferry]

its too bad I don't understand one darn word of japanese she sings.

Why not try some Jungle/Drum&Bass (genres of Electronic music)?

Bad Company (not the 80's rock band )
Ed Rush & Optical (the famous duo)
Dom & Roland (preferably live )
EZ Rollers (classic)
Ram Trilogy
Technical Itch (get a good subwoofer )
Dieselboy (DJ)
Matrix (It's not the movie, best Jungle artist ever)
Photek (pure genius)
Grooverider
Dillinja
DJ Dara
Aphrodite (the older stuff)
Usual Suspects & Loxy
Future Cut
Fierce

Others I recommend:

Tilt (AKA Ferry Corsten if I remember correctly)
Banco De Gaia
Chicane
Sasha
DJ Spooky
Underworld
Ayla
BT
Paul van Dyk
Eat Static (Science of the Gods is damn good)
LSG (AKA Oliver Lieb)
Orbital
Propellerheads
Sven Vath (Dein Schweiss )
Swayzak (Oh yeah! )
Armand Van Helden
Leftfield
Hooverphonic
Delerium

There's so much more but there's enough for ya!

Phunktion, great selection! I always got burned when I'd try drum n bass so I stopped buying them. Don't forget Aphrodite, some mean low freq. bass on some tracks.

Buddhist, how about pre-FSOL -
Stakker Humanoid

Oh man, there's been some great music those crazy freaks have put out over the years on those space-age synth-machines.

"I take ya brain to anutha dee-menshun...pay close attention"

Oliver Lieb has put out some absolutely amazing compositions as well.
