Thanks for the damn closed source drivers, every step forward in linux gains a step backwards by ATI and Nvidia. Recently I´ve tried to install Kubuntu 7.04 with the same simple instructions as I´ve used in Kubuntu 6.10. Damn lost time, they did a mess with their f*&!cked closed source drivers, everything now is a recompile solution under bash, and the manuals isn´t anymore easy to find on their website.
Nvidia 0 X 0 ATI.
Open source community offered the hand, the leg, the foot, the arm, everything to stop the mess with their drivers and to offer a simple solution for the users, but they appear pushing their efforts to deny eternally a simple solution for the Users of their cards.
Intel open drivers for Linux is getting simple and easy every day, may be it´s my time too to stop buying cards without simple open drivers as well. May I will not suffer a stomachache anymore when a new release of OSS goes out and Nvidia and ATI didn´t help a milimeter for users to buy their cards.
Damn ATI.
Damn Nvidia.
Where is your Open Source drivers ?
Where is the two click solution ?
Where is the instructions per distro on Nvidia site ?
Where is the simplicity the final user needs that Intel finnaly got ?
I cannot believe Nvidia and Ati as a major VGA card manufacturers can't
give a simple open sourced drivers for a single or two click install...
One can´t do considerable losses, a lot buying Intel cards with open drivers can do, may it´s time to Intel to construct a VGA card facility again, 30 million users market already open and waiting...
