you didn't answer in the other patrick thread so here it is again - do you know why you know Jackie Robinson's name ? His color doesn't mean he's any better at baseball either, just like gender in driving, but he's known to practically every sports fan there is. Do you know why ?
Is it that impossible to comprehend that she's changing the way people think of women on the race track ? Even if that's not her goal. Even if she hasn't been #1 just yet. In racing, what are we associating her with ? Holy sh#t she actually has a chance unlike others before her. She has the ability to reach the top where she didn't belong. Much like what Robinson accomplished when he reached the majors. Like your point, his skin color didn't affect his baseball skills either, did it ? But he mattered to millions just the same, and it's not even because he won championships (how many knew he did?)...
Ummm... I'm sorry, but Jackie Robinson was completely different. As far as I know, nobody ever blocked women from joining teams in the IRL, at least not in recent memory.
Poor Danicka Patrick, she has to put up with all these TV interviews where people laud her for finishing in 4th place, that's so horrible compared to what Robinson went through.
Robinson proved he was one of the greats, how can you even compare Jackie Robinson's accomplishments with Patrick's 4th place finish in a single race?
Let me know when Patrick wins a race, then a championship; then she will be deserving of all this media hoopla. Until then she's pulling a Kournikova.
