Hrmmm, grenades dont exactly have THAT large of a blast radius...granted it was down a hill and in the water I assume...

And fortunately its the explosion that kills, so just a few feet away and your safe. Now if grenades were made of metal then it might be something to worry about.

So would that guy have just stood there till it blew up if his buddy didn't wrestle him away from the grenade? Dropping the grenade was dumb, standing there for a better look was moronic.

<--- no 'nade experience.
Are you supposed to let that metal piece fly off before you throw or are you supposed to throw the thing immediately after the pin is pulled and let the metal piece fly off during flight?

5 meter kill radius
15 meter casualty radius
anyone within 15 meters of an obstructed blast would be getting shrapnel removed.

I think that pond was quite deep with steep sides. The shrapnel would have gone into the walls of the pond and straight up in the air.
That should be an UNOBSTRUCTED blast.anyone within 15 meters of an obstructed blast would be getting shrapnel removed.
