Data Recovery Software ??

my wife and i are opening a pc business and received some great idaeas in these forums. now i have a new question for you. what data recovery software have you used with good results ??? the software i have used worked ok but there were always glitches. i don't mind paying for something but i would rather not keep buying things until we find one we like. coffeyscomputercenter thanks everyone for their help!

thanks for the links. i went to each site, looked at the content and then bookmarked about 10 of them. i was hoping that the choice would be easier but this is exactly what i expected. where i have been employed we used "get data back" but with the owner going absent i'm sure that it is a very old release. we just keep fighting with it more and more

GetDataBack is the only recovery I have personally used and I have been satisfied with its ability to recover files. Someone once mentioned that R-Studio recovers the actual filesystem directory path whereas GetDataBack only recovers the individual files. Then there are the people who recommend TestDisk and they tend to have the attitude that there is nothing better. This is why I have listed both TestDisk and R-Studio before GetDataBack, with OnTrack directly after.

Some of the Rescue Disks are also useful in this regard. For instance, the UBCD4Win contains four different data recovery programs and its own operating system so it will not accidentally overwrite any data on the recoverable drive.
