I like DST. More hours of light when I'm awake.

I wish it was DST all year, because I'm not an early riser.

I'm not a morning person and I hate DST. With DST, we are getting up 1 hour earlier -- so I don't understand why you like it.

Huh......? The clocks change twice a year, those are the only times you have to get used to getting up one hour earlier or later. Once you adjust it makes no difference.

I like DST because I like light. Darkness is depressing.

I hate it. I have lived in Arizona (no DST) on and off throughout my life, and have always liked that about the place. It just makes it easier for me to keep a good sense of time.

Not having to drive home from work in the dark is nice, but having to install OS and Java patches on 60 servers at work for the new DST change is NOT.

Seriously... Why don't they just leave it an hour forward all year long? I don't see any benefits to losing an hour of afternoon daylight in Winter.

Yes, if it is not changed it gets so dark so early. This is in SLC, Ut in the winter. It helps out a lot in places where you can really tell a diff between Summer and Winter.

Good question. I have wondered the same thing.

It may have something to do with the safety of kids going to school, but I'm not sure how that works out.

It is just lame to have it dark so early. If you ski, board, sled or anything in the winter light is a big factor. Not to mention driving in *******y conditions in the dark, and the kids cant play out on the hill w/ sleds for long. Bummer you job sux, but just for these reasons alone it is a huge plus for many people.

I think it'd be better to eliminate daylight savings and just have people and businesses adjust their schedules with regards to the season. Don't like driving in the dark without DST? Just leave an hour early, as if there were DST. What a concept, right?

i hate DST. the sun should be (roughly) right overhead at noon. because austin is in the wrong time zone (geographically) and DST, the sun was right overhead at damn near 2 pm. that ain't right. houston isn't quite as bad, being 100 miles to the east and in the proper time zone.

Not anymore than non-universal schedule changes would. People could just adjust the times they drive, work, when automatic lights come on, etc. In fact, in lower latitudes, DST can actually waste energy. It's a ham-handed solution.
