well that's just stupid...you could have sold those parts for some $$

Yes, because dead and ridiculously obsolete hardware is worth the hassle of selling.

And about the dust, I did wash some of them, but then I went for the all-natural collector look.

Ok, then. Let me ask you this: Have you ever paid for something that is a decoration? If so you can see why I skipped on the 10-20 bucks and went ahead and used them for decoration. I don't like packaging and shipping things, avoiding scammers, etc. (AKA the hassle I was talking about) Your time must be crazy worthless if you would take the time to sell antique/broken hardware for basically nothing...

BTW: They are only screwed to the wall, and could easily be unscrewed and sold to any moron that would pay to have that junk. (Obviously I payed for some of it at one time, but most was donated)

Yes these are all from my old house. This all happened after I got drunk and had just ended my relationship with my fiance. We bought the house together, and I pretty much flipped out.
The motherboard decorations started almost immediatly after I first moved there. Lived there almost 2 years, and was supposed to get married in September.

Yeah, I'm usually a pretty easy-going guy, but when I drink Molson XXX strange things happen. One time I only had 3, and it ended in an explosion and hospital visit. As for the Gentoo install, my friend Brian (who actually referred me to this thread in the first place) did like 98% of the work. To this day, I still can't set up Gentoo, way too much to remember for me.

Before I tossed out my last dead motherboard, I pried off the cpu socket. I will use it to hold a processor in place when applying artic silver.
