I just bought a MSDN UNiversal subscription for $700 a while back off fleabay. Great way to get a legal copy of all their stuff and update cd's in the mail. It is intended for development purposes only though.

basically, if you don't live in the same state, there is little he can do, legally.

If I were you... I would ship it back to him the cheapest way possible. Something where he has to sign for it. Perhaps, Priority mail with your return addy or name very large so he knows the package is from you..

If he refuses to accept delivery... Then keep both.

This is about the most ethical thing, I can think of to do.

hmm he sounds like he's trying to be a pain, those legal mails are full of bull, he has no evidence you said that office came with it, he was stupid to send it back to you, ask to speak to his lawyer thru emails first, then tell the lawyer you would be willing to ship win 2k back, but never said anything about office, if he had a lawyer the lawyer would see the case wouldnt be worth his trouble and probly give him the office copy of office 2k, your not a big retailer the lawyer could rip off, and sound honest enough, be warry, but not frightened enough to wet yourself.

In a reply to the next threat he sends you,ask him to have his attorney notify you by snail mail so your attorney can respond. Then tell him to have a nice a day.

He has no case. You do, if he attempts to discredit you.

Always keep records of all corespondance and back it up on cd-r or any other method. If you have all his corespondance(as evedent by your posts),that will serve as your assertion of a malicious attempt to defame your good name. Should he follow through with defaming you,you will have legal standing to follow through as you will have the facts on your side.

Once you are assured he has recieved your reply,then you can ban him from your email box and be done with him.

I think he is full of crap,and this will prove it.
