What's happening in 11 hours?
So if it shuts down, does that mean we don't have to pay our taxes??
yay I get an unpaid vacation for some unknown amount of time
only if they do it on paper, which is just a terrible idea anywaysTerrible time for my work.....all of these people trying to qualify for hundreds of thousands of dollars, and the IRS is not going to process their 2010 tax returns.
You'll still get back pay. While not guaranteed, it will most likely happen. I just feel bad for military folks who were living check to check. If this lasts for a couple weeks, they could really feel the sting because they need this money to come in on time or they're going to miss their payments.
The government shouldn't be able to just "shut down". WE pay their wages.
And they do nothing but squander that money on useless bullshit...
So maybe it's good that they shut down. If they aren't working then they can't spend money.
