I think he'd lose because he is black. Honest to God, I agree that he wouldn't stand a chance, but I'm almost positive it would be because of his skin color. No one would say so, but most of the US isn't ready for that.

I don't think Hilary would win either because shes a girl. I doubt we will ever have a non-white male christian president.

Condi isn't a politician... I don't see that happening. I like Powell, but I'm not sure he'd pass the primaries. McCain looks good, but he's getting ancient. Rudy is promising, but he's pretty moderate for the Rep base. Jeb has taken himself out of the running. Hmmm... anything could happen.

Obama is such a tool. He is being groomed by the democrats who want to put up a younger articulate black man after seeing how the Republicans put Condi Rice and Powell into power.

Obama may seem to be a nice guy, but the Democrats are just using him as a tool to get votes. He is a nobody that came out of nowhere that is being molded by powers that be.

Cheney would never run for president. He was relunctant to be VP in the first place... and he already said he isn't. If you understand Cheney, you know he won't.

Ashcroft? He's small potatos, and besides, he's a lightning rod.

I really have no clue who the GOP would put up in 2008. Perhaps some Senator or Governor somewhere. I could almost see McCain, but he said once that he isn't getting any younger so that may imply he would not campaign again.
I would love to see a McCain/Condi Rice ticket but I doubt that would happen.

I don't think Ashcroft would run, he is too polarizing and as a Republican I don't think I could vote for him.

I could see Giuliani running, though.

Obama is black, he won't win any state in the South because of the racism that still exists there and it would be hard for him to win in the Midwest as well. It hurts me to say that, but that South and Middle America is not ready for a black president right now. The Dems need to field a softspoken Southerner if they want to win, doesn't even need to be someone with Clinton's charisma.

I don't think the Dems need someone softspoken or a Southerner. They just need someone who isn't an East-coast Arch-Liberal.

I wonder if anybody would really take Jeb seriously, even the Republicans. Many may be afraid of setting up some sort of dynasty so in that aspect it may be better for the GOP to not have Jeb run for President.

Cheney has said he has no further political pursuits, so I wouldn't bank on that. I don't think the public receives him as likeable enough to top a ticket, anyway.

Last night on CBS or ABC (I forget which), Giuliani was on discussing the state of affairs, and further political aspirations were mentioned. Seeing him in the rep primaries in a few years wouldn't be a big surprise.
